Help! White Widow

Hi all I need help to tell me what’s happened here.
The seed casing was stuck so I picked it off which came off very easy (dinner time today)
But the seedling is looking brown.
Light is a 125w CFL.
Someone I know said it’s because it’s fresh.
But any help is appreciated.

It looks normal to me- it'll start to green up as soon as those cotyledons open all the way .

The soil does look moist in the pics but it isn’t at all.
Dead I’m thinking.

Just leave it and see what happens. I have a little seedling at the moment that has only had the cotyledon leaves for a couple of weeks. Some tiny little bug with red wings ate the new growth. I saw the bastard! I fully expected it to die and wouldn't think I'd get anything from it. I kept watering it, and yesterday I saw some new growth popping out from the cotyledons. As long as there's life there's hope, and your plant still shows signs of life. Try to keep the pot a little warm if possible, as with a heat mat for example.
