How close are these

I think im 6-7 maybe 8 weeks into flowering but I’m not sure how much longer I’ve got exactly. I’ve got a jewellers loupe with 30x and 60x but I have no clue what I’m looking at, I know it’s meant to be cloudy but I never seen the difference before. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, MrH!

I found an image that kind of help explains what you're looking for.

Trichomes will start off as translucent, then they will get kind of cloudy, and slowly become a milky color. After this, they will begin to turn to an amber color. Depending on the type of high you're looking for, picking at different trichome maturity will effect the final outcome of your buds. I look for 10% amber for heavy Indica strains, and 20-30% amber trichomes on heavy Sativa strains. As I said, it's all in your preference. If you like the more energetic heady high, then I'd harvest once you first start to see amber trichomes on calyx sites on your buds. NOT ON THE SUGAR LEAVES. These will mature faster than the trichomes on your buds, and will make you think they're further along than they are. If you want a more "couch-lock" style buzz, more of a night time smoke, then wait until you have a higher amount of amber trichomes.

Also, if you want help discerning the colors of your trichomes, you gotta take natural light pictures. Under that hps everything just gets yellow washed

Very true. I check with grow lights off, and my loupe has white LED lights that help you to see.

Looks like there is amber tricombes in the photo but hard to tell because of light. As others said take a photo when lights are off and should be able to give a better idea.

Still really struggling I know these are ready I just don’t know if and when I should cut it down. The jowellers loupe shows cloudiness but im still unsure? What do youse think

We can't really tell from photos at normal distance. Photos taken through the loupe or with a macro lenses to show trichomes close up are best

Microscope apps for phones work pretty good for pics here as well
