How do I find out the strain?

Morning all

We were given a mother plant ... From what I have read I'm sure it's cannabis - how, now do I find out the strain... I want to ask intelligent questions but I have some unknowns to deal with... Anyone have a trick to share? Thanks in advance

Ask the person you got it from

if you look under the 3rd leaf, there will be a serial number, you can cross reference this serial number with the global cannabis database and get the strain info from there..

just kidding, best bet is to ask who you got it from,, it's just a plant, so determining the strain is the same as it would be to figure out what strain of grass you have in your yard.

guess you'll never know the strain then.. if you post pics up of the plant we can tell you if it's either sativa dominant or indica dominiant but thats about as far as you can tell based on appearance alone.
