Soil stores excess nutrients whereas a DWC or coco grow the nutrients are on demand. It's the main reason why you see changes so quicky in hydro type grows.
When you have an excess amount of Ca and Mg you start to lockout other nutrients such as P and K. Many users find themselves giving more MC because the plant looks healthy. In soil the plant only uses what it wants at the time. Then all of a sudden in flower the plant demands more K but it can't get it becasue of the excess Ca and Mg.
The chart below looks confusing but once you start to understand it things will make sense.

So when I hear of people having to add Calmag and they are using MC as well the first thing I want to know is that they are following the calculator's max dosage and not going over that. If you feed high amounts of P and K to the plant, which we know MC is high in, then you start to lockout Ca and Mg. By doing a quick rinse of the soil and coming back with a lower amount of nutrients the problems correct themselves.
Growers using MC see the Ca and Mg def and naturally add more calmag.

I would understand if you aren’t watering correctly or just over did the MC for sure. Since using MC I have had only 1 plant with Cal/Mag deficiency. This plant is at 6.5 Gm-gallon so I don’t suspect lockout. I Go back to the MC thread when I started screaming warnings of increasing .5 each watering. I saw the Ill effects of lock out in the beginning and burned some plants. I may have got a mixed matched dose of MC kinda like Schloss did Or the plant likes Cal/Mag. I am also not using it every watering. I am more stingy about the additives after my AN run. I appreciate any input though. Crazy enough I have 2 plants at 7gm-gallon without issue.

Wedding cake just showed her head and I pull off the shell membrane and she opened up. Fast Jack is looking like she’s about ready for flower tent.

Having to tie up colas at every corner of the tent. Dropped an Alaskan Purple and a White widow seed yesterday. Going to set up the small tent today to put the new seedlings in, I need to flip the Jack Fast before it’s 20’ tall before stretch.

DAY 19:
All of the pots besides the 2 babies are ready for a drink.
DL2(Nancy) 2ml-1gallon MC She’s limping along but not real impressed. She gets moved over to the corner out of the intense light. I will give the two new girls their place under the lights.
All other plants will get the 3Gm-1gallon MC from MR.Saugas suggestion.
Did some very light trimming on both the Dark Devils taking off the very lower small stems. They were dragging the soil and at 19 days now or never. Should make watering easier. I would rather clip my plants than handle them with my hands every three-four days.
Rearranged the tent to make things easier. Having to get to the back of the tent to fill the humidifier sucks.

Hydroholic, I had the same setup and decided to remove the humidifier (it was a pain) I put a Pyrex glass cake pan on top of the heater. I have to top it up daily, easy, just pour it in. Just have to remove if you are doing work in tent. Suggestion Cheers

I took it out of the tent and just control the whole room instead of the tent. It was a big head ache and took up room of a plant.

I have leaves discoloration spots as well. I just bumped up .25 to 6.25 today. Around 30 days since flip. Curious to see how yours react to increased mc

Hydroholic, was wondering how strong the smell of the skunk is. I have smelled it when people smoke it, very strong and pungent, how is it in the tent, does it spread out when the tent doors are open.?

Honestly with 5 strains in flower I can’t tell one from another. I will know here soon when I cut her down. The tent right now smells, burn your eyes smell.

Really should have topped the Jack Fast plant. I knew better.
Had to set up the small tent to move the babies over and flip the Jack into flower. Light is pinned to the top of the tent. I may have to swap one from the big tent to the mars tent since they are shorter.
The green diamond in the center does not want to be green. Ran the MC up and it would never green back up.
