LED Bag Seed Closet Grow

I've got some to smoke to hold me over I'm just getting anxious to smoke my own work lol

I'm glad I mentioned my plan to Defol a on here then cause I had planned that defol all day today and just haven't gotten to it yet. Was actually finishing up what I've been working on and about to tend to the girls lol

I'd defol the last couple days personally... makes trimming much easier when you pick off the bulk of the fan leaves before chop. Everyone's different though.

Yeah..see other than the few big fan leaves left I won't have much trimming to do from the looks of it. I'll have some but not a ton like I was originally thinking. I'll probably defol the day before harvest.

On another subject, anyone that's tagging along have any experience using the stems/trim in edibles/tinctures/etc? I'd love to be able to use all of my plant and I've always heard of "stem tea" and different things along those lines but have never really looked into it as I've always just used actual buds to cook with.

Gave both girls a two gallon tap water (not ph'd) flush tonight with plenty of run off. I probably won't flush again for a day or two at least. We had a little photo shoot while they were out to play and wound up with some bud porn .

They look beautiful! but please, whatever size containers you have - multiply that by about 3(even 2x is fine) and give them that much water daily. You want to tie her tubes practically. Keep enough water flowing so that she can't take much else but water in through the roots - letting them dry will leave her roots in residuals etc.

There was more than enough runoff..I had to let them drain in the tub for at least 2 min of steadily dripping. I'll make sure they stay nice and wet though

alright yeah, after doing some more reading - you being in happy frog which is soil, not a soil-less medium like I'm in, you should be totally fine just watering with plain water to runoff. hehe my bad. The ions of the nutes once they bind to the soil(per Cation Exchange Capacity; ref. Google) will remain regardless of how much water - however, the amount of yellowing in your leaves leads me to believe your plant has consumed well. While I recommend flushing, there is no consensus on the subject, only conflicting information.

I came to a similar conclusion with my readings that it's really personal preference. Thought I do believe that by not ph'ing the water it will create nutrient lock outs causing the plant to consume everything within itself while searching for more nutes. And any nutes they may be still pulling from the soil itself shouldn't affect the flavor imo. Either way I'm gonna flush until Wednesday and go from there

Eh most tap water comes out at a pretty neutral level... So as long as you didn't add any nutrients chances are it'll be the correct ph and even if it's a little off the happy frog will buffer the ph to where it needs to be.

Our tap here is pretty basic. It's around 7.8-8.0 usually

Ive never heard that... Ive always heard you want the plants dry as can be at harvest and Ive heard it from a ton of different places lol. Ive also always heard that you want to harvest during lights off because that's when the salts and nutrients are in the soil and that during lights on it gets sucked back into the leaves via the roots (no idea how true that is just hear it a lot)... It's all preference hell look at organic growers in beds that can't flush they harvest perfectly green plants that taste amazing and smoke great... Tons of people don't flush and say they never noticed a difference between flushing and not flushing so that's why they don't as they'd rather feed up till harvest. A good cure is what gives you that good taste and smoke... Now I'm not saying flushing is stupid not at all... Just that there is two sides as there is a very substantial amount of growers who have a whole different opinion on it... I personally just switch to regular water the last week and leave it at that if they yellow out a lot great if there is still green that's fine too. After 2-3 weeks cure it all tastes dank to me.

Sorry it's been almost a week since I did an update. I haven't flushed since the last flushing as I was out of town..I also don't plan on flushing anymore to let them dry as much as possible before chop. I'm planning to let them go a little over 24 hours in the dark before harvest. Here's some pics

Picking up some 32oz jars and pruners today ..

One looks like she matured a bit faster they both look great. Always thought the yellowed plants looked sexy at harvest makes the buds really pop.

Yeah one of them is definitely more swollen and ripe. I agree..yellowed plants at harvest are absolutely gorgeous. That's when the real colors of the buds and plant itself come out imo. At least that's how these girls did for me. I'm hoping the roughly 36 hours of dark will ripen the other one out a little more. I've read it will trigger the finishing process but that could just be an urban legend/myth

looks absolutely awesome GrnThmbs!!!! FROSTY COLORFUL JUICY STICKY BUDS INCOMING hehe, should be some superb smoke

Thanks Shorti, they definitely have some pretty colors coming out and are super sticky! I'm probably going to defoliate them tonight to cut down on the amount of leaves I will have to deal with after chop wednesday.

You did a good job that's for sure they look great. The 36 hour thing idk so was going to try it but just did 24 hours instead... as long as you chop right before lights on is best imo... Idk I think 3 days is excessive but that's just my opinion in personally just going to stick with chopping right when the 12 hours of dark is up.

Thanks man. I'm only giving them an extra 12 hours of darkness. It will have just been roughly 36 hours since the last lights on lol

Today's the day! I just got home from work and gotta shower then it's time for the girls to come down .

Take your time trimming the fan leaves!!!! It is extremely easy to accidentally clip a piece of a cola off and then it leaves an ugly spot so be very careful where you cut the stems as some buds are really close to the end of the fan leaf stem... I always manage to do it to a few colas lol so be sure to be extra careful on the trophy nugs.

WOO!!
Can't wait to see the show go down
gonna be a PAAAAARTY

Gerbil wangs everywhere
