Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Hi all,

I've just bought my first ever grow tent and Mars Hydro light. If I end up with even a fraction of the grow quality as you guys I'll be happy. Thanks to Sara and Ruby for all the help getting to the point of ordering. There are some high quality grows from people using the Mars II and I'm very much looking forward to following in your footsteps.

Thanks Catfish,

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks to find out about LED's and signed up earlier this week. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I've learned a lot and now it's time to get my fingers dirty. I've been following OldGrower's first-since-the-eighteen-hundreds-grow. I'm tempted to try the SCROG method... how hard can it be? ;-) Now I shall go stalk your MarsPro Grow journal!

Love the name BTW. Ha-ha. I'm a new led grower too. Just got my first one in today. The old 60x5 300 watt. And damn its intensely bright. Have a mars 2 on the way for flower. I'll be using a scrog method. A few things to remember from what I have gathered. Is led hight from canopy. Keep temps in the 80s. And you may need to supplement calmag. Other than that. Just bad ass nugs. I'll start my journal as soon as seeds arive. Ordered from nirvana a week ago. I'm so anxious. Hope they make it through customs.

Lol. Well I am new to the LED Units myself.
I have been using CFL's for about 2 years then stopped for about 2 years. Now I am getting back into it.

Hmmm, the last time I checked recently I noticed Mars was offering FREE SHIPPING.
Sara, is free shipping still in effect?

Pure bud porn... well done! I'd be happy to get a couple like those on the right in the drying rack. I'm thinking many grows learning before getting near those on the left. I'm only going to grow high CBD strains. Much as I like strong THC strains I can't work effectively on them.

I evilly never use any led other than Mars. They have great people and a great product. My 60x5 is flowering my King Louie and growing some peppers and tomatoes under it to and they all love it. My Mars ll 1200 is also amazing all around great Company. I just wish they had a better warranty when buying from amazon

Why I'm only buying through Sara getting it direct and at a discount. Hands down the best way to go for leds. And these guys keep making them better. I tested my first one out today and I'm completly blown away.

If you go to Mars-Hydro.com and go to warranty, at the bottom is a price list to replace any part on your light after the warranty is done. Parts are cheap. You Tube look up Mars-Hydro and there are videos on replacing parts and troubleshooting the lights. For the price, free shipping and the warranty you do get it is well spent money.I would say most buy the cheapest to test the waters, they are then hooked because they do work as good as they look.

:party:WooHoo, Congrats on the Harvest!!! Awesome yield it looks like!:yahoo:
Woo-hoo, harvest week has begun!!! Today is day 59 of flower for my 6.3' x 3' SCROG under ~1000W of Mars Hydro LED (2x MarsII 900's, 1x Reflector 48) and 1 of my plants is ready for harvest. All of my plants were vegged for 9 weeks. The top colas of my Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel were nice and ripe with about 5-10% amber trichomes, so I took all the tops and left the bottom stuff to ripen up for another week. That bottom stuff is still very dense and chunky despite being shaded by dense, compact indica-dominant growth with short internodal spacing, and very wide leaves. I'm very impressed at the penetration of the MarsII 900's. This plant is going to be a nice yielder, it grew dense, heavy, chunky colas on an enormous skeletal system......the trunk and branches of this plant were like nothing I've ever seen, insanely thick and robust. I would estimate that there is roughly 25% of the plant being left to ripen up, things are looking pretty good yield wise although it's always impossible to tell until the big post-dry weigh-in. This plant took up approximately 20% of my total screen area, the rest is Female Seeds C99 which have another 4-5 days to go until I harvest those in stages as well.

Here are some pics, the lighter is a large-size lighter for perspective. Any guesses on how much dry weight I've pulled off this plant so far?:

:thanks: thank you for doing this experiment for us, CatfishKnight. The engineer says the drawer is not supposed to hinder the signal, but you can find out the reason for yourself.:high-five:
Well since last night at 8 pm, all 3 Led units came on together and did the Sunrise to 80% brightness as programmed. 9 hours later all is still on. Now to see if they all go off at 12 noon as programmed after the Sunset time. So fresh batteries and leaving remote next to all 3 Led Units in the open. If it continues to work the next 2 days then I will hide the remote control to see if it is the remote messing them up or just fresh American batteries gave the remote enough power to reprogram all 3 units properly.

:laughtwo: Haha, Zebs, Merry Christmas. :xmas:

:circle-of-love: Thanks for the feedback, Camelion. When there is a problem, we will solve it until it works.:Namaste: hmm... but it couldn't be easier than just plug-and-play.:) This advise is what we have heard most from customers. We have started to consider about it.:high-five:
Hello Sara,

About the pro series, I find it a little out off the context to say "Maybe it is at the first time. As long as you master the steps, it's easy." Couple off people here using the remote and lights, for weeks now and still encounter problems.......
Think you cannot say its easy than.... or its easy....., but than there is a problem with it? Who want lights that put plants under stress by going on and off when they want?
On the other side, the working lights looks great and the plants under it also, but the remote add no additional value except the time laps that you can program for (and) the intensity and color of the light, but if they dont do it...maybe there are better ways than to control it?
For the moment, me and the plants love the MII 900w, 2 months in use now.

:ganjamon: it will come soon.
Got my 60x5 watt for veg in today. And damn that thing is bright. I can't wait to see my mars 2.
