FINALLY! Starting to see flowers. Sunday was 9 damn weeks from sprout. Very excited though. This is my first grow and I've screwed up so many damn things, I'm surprised I've still got plants!

OK, so now I'm 3 weeks into flower. I've got the fans going. (They've been going for months). I've got great penetration from (2) 300 watt Roleandro LED lamps. Should I be trimming off all the fan leaves that are blocking the lower bud sites?

Appreciate the help guys!!

I wouldn't you seem to have good light penetration. Maybe take a few but you will need some for photosynthesis. It appears you have enough stretch to allow good light penetration. Old school is a believer in lolypopping I'm sure he will jump in soon. I myself prefer the bushier plant

Here is my northern lights 2 weeks to harvest she's only 16" tall

Yeah, she's beautiful. You had a scrog frame on her until just recently though, right? How many weeks has it been since the first appearance of flowers?

Yes just took the scrog frame off 2 days ago. It was easier trimming the inner parts of the plant. I think it was 30-40 days in when she started flowering. But I had switched her to 12/12 at day 65 because of my candy cane. She's at 120 days now but she should have finished around day 90ish if she would have stayed 18-6. Switching to 12/12 definitely made a difference with bud quality and size but it pushes harvest out about 6 weeks longer

OK Lupey, you've got the most Northern Lights experience. How long do you think until harvest? Pistils are curling, some are browning. Tomorrow will be day 35 of flowering.

I'm guessing another month yet from what I can see all your trics are clear yet you will want to wait until they are turning amber. Typical start to finish should be around 90 days. I'm harvesting mine tonight. Her buds are hugeh

your pistils should pretty much disappear into the buds. What kind of buzz are you looking for?

I'm past 90 days start to finish. These three broke through the soil on 11/26/2016. I've messed up more than I'd like to admit. Looks like Saturday was day 96. I'm not sure these plants will last another 30 days. Fan leaves are yellowing fast. The sugar leaves are quite green though, so maybe. I'm not that impatient to harvest, I'm just worried about whether the plants will last long enough for them to fully ripen.

As far as what type of high I'm looking for, I have not smoked enough weed to really make a determination. I'm growing these girls for fun and enjoyment. Since we legalized their growth in November, I thought "why not". Really enjoying the ride. You guys have been a tremendous help. I'm hoping my next grow will be a lot more controlled with a much bigger yield.

Incidentally, you mention Northern lights being very pH sensitive. I've been shooting for 6.0 with coco coir as the medium. What pH are you watering with? (I know you're doing soil)

Thanks,
Dan__

My current grow I never checked it but I used bottled spring water instead of tap water. I live in the country and have a well. In my area there is a very high limestone base and the pH fluctuations are all over the place. I just harvested my 3rd northern lights and it went 139 days but I switched it to 12/12 on day 65. Yield is incredible. Just trim the fans as they yellow and keep going, looks like you have a ways to go yet. Here is the main cola from this harvest

This is my second attempt at growing CKS NL - the first, I had 3 seeds in one pot of soil and was only able to yield 2g per plant, but the result was fantastic, just the type of effect I was looking for. This time around, I have 1 seed in a pot of soil, a small LED light that I bought for $20 and a small oscillating fan. That's it. Along with PH'ed water + Fox Farm nutrients. Here is what it looks like after 68 days...just waiting for the buds to come in ;) - any ideas on what light schedule I should use? I was 24hr for 60 days, and just switched it to 20hr. Hope it works!

If you're 12 weeks in and this is where you're at, I would switch to 12/12. This will force the flowering. It will, however, extend the flowering time. Lupey had good results with this. He stayed 12/12 to the chop. I switched to 12/12 to trigger flowering, but after a couple of weeks at 12/12, went back to 18/6.

I just did a little research, I did find this, "The best option if you want to use the 12 hour days is to start your plants under 24/0 or 18/6 while they are in their vegetative growth stage and then switch that light cycle to 12/12 when the first pre-flowers appear. This will give your autos the most amount of growth and the yield will not suffer that much."

So I'll switch my timer to 12/12 and see what happens. Hopefully it starts to flower soon, thanks Dan!

Did you top her? I'm growing a couple of northern lights by world of seeds and so far you guys early pics and my girls look very similar

OK, so here I am, Wednesday was 56 days (yes, 8 weeks) of flowering. My trichs are milky, it's looking like it's about time for the chop. I've been flushing with just pH'd water for the last 2 waterings. How much of the stuff hanging off these buds am I trimming off? Obviously, the sugar leaves get trimmed off and kept for hash generation, but she seems to be growing new pistils, etc. Do I leave all that on? This is going to be my first chop and trim.

If there isn't any amber they aren't ready yet. Don't chop too early you will regret it

I have started my first indoor grow. CKS northern lights auto.
3x3 tent, 900 led.
All 5 seeds took an are off. I germinated 2 just to see an they spouted. I ended up going away so unfortunately they may have been stunted, but are taking off great now with everything up and going. The other 3 are catching up to the first 2.
I made the mistake of not planting them in the bucket they finish in.
First indoor/ auto grow.
Live an learn once again everything seems to be taking real well now.
I'm running 18/6 seems to be perfect, marshydro 900.
The first 2 are showing pistols. At about 4-5 weeks.
I'm also using nutes an having been taking real well and been exploding with growth.
I'm lst'ing an once again taking real well.

So question?? I have heard to use flower nutes an bloom nutes when pistoles are showing. Should I use one or another or can I use both?

Hey guys, I could really use some help. My first 3 NL plants grew fine indoors using 2 LED lights and a small fan. Only downside was I only got Half OZ yield from them. So I did my research and talked to people that I know, and everyone (and every site) said to get a small grow tent, some exhaust fans, and Metal Halide (for vegetative) + High Pressure Sodium lights (for flowering).

Ok so I bought all the supplies and everyone is right, it only took 1 month to reach the size it normally took me 3 months to reach.

BUT the problem is now it looks like my plants are dying.....but I have done the exact same thing I have always done, and have always successfully grown my beautiful plants....what gives this time? I'm really upset :hmmmm:

Can I still save these plants, and if so how?
