What's the powdery mildew, you have pics?
This may mess with the ph in your soil.
I have never used so sorry not much help hopefully someone sees this that has tried. But pics will be requested.

As GHempster mentioned a photo is very helpful. We have seen some people concerned with powdery mildew only to discover that they were seeing the production of trichomes and panicked. A photo is worth 1000 words.

Hello buddy,
I am new here but have experience with a lot of things.
A good cheap fix for powdery mildew at any stage would be to mix 1 cup of 2% milk with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

You can mix like a 1/4 cup of water with it but I have never done that. Just the milk and lemon juice.
And yes, you foiler spray it.

Also, you do not need much. Just spray the effected areas and if you are indoors wait until about 30 minutes before your lights go out. If outdoors then you should do it early morning or in the evening.

Did I miss the pic? At this point we are unsure if it is mildew or trics. We don't have a lot of info to go on.

I see I have always had issues growing in this fashion never this one however.
Now that @Rows of Green had chance to check it out the pics maybe he will confirm what he told you earlier will correct this issue.

Ya it's a mildew for sure ...I heard a product called whitewash to be effective

Yes sir. You have powdery mildew. I'm not an outdoor grower and I have not had to battle this issue yet myself but I'm sure some other members will help you.
