No brother I have a 150watt Viparspectra, huge difference to put it mildly. I’m growing a marathon OG under her , day 46 and the plant is so sticky I try not to touch her. I think what you really miss are the terepene production under a weak lite. Everything I grew was grape something or other , while the weed was good it tasted nothing like grape. I put my last Gro strawberrie crinkle under her for only 3 weeks and it tasted just like strawberry. Yes it’s a whole nother ballgame under a good lite

That @ViparSpectra is doing a great job.
But there are a few factors other than light that will improve things.
Unless you have good genetics to start it won't matter.
Fem photos from a reputable breeder is where I always like to start.
I've never had any success with autos.
Some are decent quality but the inconsistent results make a 3 month project a waste of my time.
Give me a Herbies photo any day.

I’m growing the best auto genetics you can get and I still won’t get over 4ozs , I’m at this almost 3 yrs and there’s really no comparison, I’m gonna run photos because you don’t get enough of a yield, this auto is almost too tall for my tent I’m definitely gotta learn how to tie them down. With what I had to work with I basically had to run autos, not the case anymore, I’ll be getting Herbies once I’m ready to go

No timer or darkness required.
But once you see the benefits of photos it's also common to switch.
You know what's required now and you have some confidence in yourself.
