Some Old Guy's Soil Grows

I was getting the starting dry weight, and then to see if it lost anymore weight sitting out in the open. Weighed again today still over 15lbs. Now when I do a saturation down the road, I'll have the base weight for the FFOF.
My wife asked me to save the males lol, both of them look 99% right now. How long does it take for the pollen to become mature enough to use for pollination? I can separate it from the others. I dont know about crossing it with autos but I might be able to get some of these other photos right?

The new toys were delivered today.

I cut the heater back to 65 and the air temp is are holding about 80' at canopy. Leaf temps are at 78' and the RH is 45% .

The base weight is how it comes out of the bag. The wet weight is what it weighs after you water to runoff. I don't know what you call the weight after a few days out in the open with no plant in it! It's not really evaporation that makes it lighter over the course of a grow.

That depends on the plant, but I'd say you could see sacs start to open about a week or a week and and a half from when they start to look like balls. You can cross photos with autos but you will end up with photos. And of course you can cross it with other photos. All your crosses will be regular seeds rather than fems.

Keeping them isolated (and your clothes clean) will be key to being selective in your seedmaking!

Nice and bright! Might want to lean that tall branch away from the light until you see how the rest of the canopy responds to it.

Omg! I broke it..
20201204_095636.jpg

"I fxcking killed it" is what I thought yesterday..but
20201205_061751.jpg

This bitxh took the hit! Spittin' fire and said "that's all you got" getting back up! Woo!
Now the bad news, the probably/maybe male is definitely balls out.
20201204_060149.jpg

I chopped all the lower branches and left that top and the large plate leaves lower down. I placed a plastic baggie on it and and sealed it off mostly. I want that pollen.

Theres a twin in the same pot but it hasn't blown balls yet but it still looks identical to this one. If these seeds hadnt come from some decent smoke I would say fxck it and scrap them both but it was good so here I am lol
I have the new Mars 2000s going and seems like everything is doing ok at 100% right now.
20201204_062125.jpg

So I had to rearrange above is before
20201204_073216.jpg

And now. I left one of the ts600s on the end to take care of any lack of light.

Something weird, I have my infrared temp gauge, and one of the 2000s ballasts are about 115f degrees and the other is 135f degree. There is a bypass switch on the back of the controller to leave the dimming mode off that might be the culprit. Both had the switch in a different position, the cooler one had the switch off and the other hotter one had it on. I reversed them and I'll go back and check that later on.

Same readings on the ballast temps later. One is closer to the oscillating fan is all I can figure. I've been having some intense migraines after being around these 2000s since I put them up. I'll have to wear my sunglasses if I have to be around them.
Since this is just my continuing rambles..I put four more seeds in the drink and towel and plate. Two decided to pop open the first day, one of each Gelato and Bruce Banner, three days later, two are still on the plate. The Gelato hasn't broken ground but the Bruce Banner is up and unfolding. I have them in a warm spot. I can post pics in a dump later so the progress is a little more interesting than a one off a sproutling lol

Omg! I broke it..
LOL! Hope you gave that bend a good squeeze first. And find a way to support it because as it flowers it would hold itself up. Either yo-yos, string, or a stake to tie it to.
balls out.
It's a boy Mrs Walker, it's a boy!
I reversed them and I'll go back and check that later on.
The scientific method!

The "duh" method. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Oof! Sunglasses for sure.

:yahoo: I hope the others cooperate!

On another topic, are the droopy leaves a reaction to too much light for the plant? Leaves do that when the intensity is too high to lower the light hitting them.

Flipping to 12/12 last week has sent the other photos into full flowering mode but they are stretching a bit. It's funny, I had the double plants in each pot and was going to cull any males but then the males grew together in one pot and four females in the other pots lol I was like "that's so gay" lol
My sprouts are meh..one is up and going the other is just sitting there trying to stand up.
The other two seeds are still on the plate, it's been 7 days ... I changed the towels to prevent mold, been there, and I'm not sure what else to do. Just keep getting duds out of these Gelato autoflower seeds.

Here's the Skywalker auto and to bad theres no smell because its stanky and sticky and still showing new pistols all over. I'm guessing the new lights are responsible. I hadn't given a thought to having to much light, I have the lights above 18 inches. I did adjust them all the way up as high as I could get them and the lowest was 24 inches above the autos. These 2000s are no joke, these photos are really responding well. The plants I repotted into the Ocean Forest are doing the best but I am getting some fade on the one still in my bastard mix. I want to give it some MC but at a lower dosage thru the bottom. Its been taking Tiger bloom regular dose well as have the autos. I'm not kidding that MC fried some of them bad. The autos have greened back up on the TB but they are fading fast and an embarrassing yield for weight for sure. I haven't tried any samples because the trics are clear and barely any cloudy milky trics anywhere except a few around the leaves.
I have this one photo, I thought was a gorilla OG but it might be something called GMO Garlic Mushroom Onion, it smells weird as hell.

With a 10 day on the plate, waiting for germination I gave up and dropped 3 more seeds. The one I had coming up, stopped. I pull it and the tap root had spun in a circle, rebury it and it turned to mush. The one of the 4 that did get up is pushing its second set of leaves and getting 20 hours of light. The un-germinated seeds split but never poked a tip out. I'm using distilled water 1/2 cup, soak 16 hours and plate them like regular instructions and I'm 0-9 on Gelato and 3-4 on Bruce Banner. These were not the top seller breeds available by this vendor so maybe it's a really hit and miss situation when you dont go for those best sellers at the top of the search.

The waste of money is no joke, my baggie seeds have a better germination rate but cost about the same LOL Heres my cropped photo
20201214_064425.jpg

I think I'm missing out by not scrogging these. The "snap" has mended and the top has passed horizontal and is vertical. The node spacing is amazing with these stronger lights.
20201214_064518.jpg

These are 14 days past the flip and still pushing new growth. Either of the photos could use some trimming to open it up but I thought back to my last grow where it paid off to keep more of the lesser lower branches because it increased my yield overall. Photos can deliver progressive harvests with more mature tops being the first to go. When the advertised percent of thc is above 15% even those larf (narf) flowers can be good too and can offer a change to the higher strength stuff, keeps your plateau swinging around. Idk I'm baked and rambling haha heres the auto porn
20201214_064541.jpg

The LST is about the same way it's been for weeks. The MC did not agree with them. I began using TB to keep them fed because they just kept fading so much. After the second feed on TB they picked back up noticeably. Yesterday I took a gamble and mixed some MC at half strength and bottom watered with that.
I want to see if that strength (1/2) works better.

How do you decide which plant to bottom water and when? I've never understood it in a full-sized pot.
I'm 0-9 on Gelato and 3-4 on Bruce Banner.
Oof! Do you scarify them with sandpaper first?
Heres my cropped photo
Nice!

I strip it all because I hate trimming the small buds down low. I want all the growth hormones pushed to the outer ends of the branches. #nolarf!

Thanks Shed, yes I scraped the edges on the seeds. The seeds I just threw are already poking out the dirt. I skipped the towel altogether and let them soak 2 days and they all had tails poking out. They went straight into the dirt Tuesday, F that.

How do I determine which plant gets bottom watering? I dont. I have enormous confidence in the plants telling me what to do. I followed the wet dry cycle and my plants were not flourishing like my first autos. The best time for that pattern is past. For a day or so (after saturation) they showed some spark and a little progress and then nothing but trouble, fade yellowing burnt tips and leaves always pointing down or clawing.

I went back to a moist garden and hitting them almost everyday and the results speak a thousand words
20201216_174118.jpg

The half strength MC didn't scorch them, this is the snap photo 17 days past 1212 flip.
20201215_075004.jpg

This mystery bag bean auto has doubled in size since the flip.
20201216_175933.jpg

The Skywalker OG auto is stacking and fox tailing and almost finished on top.

I've switched off the saturation schedule to this,
2 cups minimum of TB regular strength 3 tsp per gallon day 1, to plain PHd water day 2, and then 1/2 strength MC about 1 quarter teaspoon per gallon day 3, all poured in the bottom of the trays. Day 4, I use plain PHd water on top slow saturation of the surface about one solo cup worth maybe a little more but not to runoff. I'll add another cup of plain water to the trays as well.

8 weeks seed to harvest. Auto I bred. Apparently it's Shit but that's from the lad I shut down hard. Basically begging for femme seeds won't get ya any. ✌

So do you run it 12/12 from the start? 56 days you cant be getting much yield since that's not much time to veg up let alone flower. I'm calling BS on 56 day harvest from seed, in organic soil to amber trics balanced with milky trics. No Fkn Way. And bruh I've been soaking seeds since the 1970s I'm older than my profile says ok, I've done it all and I've seen some amazing stuff with 90 day wonder weed but 56 days! GTFOH lol

It's actually 9 weeks after checking the calendar and yeah there are auto strains out there that are around the 60 day (2 months 8-9 weeks mark). Like plenty of them. You also get the more traditional 10-12 weeks.

Wrong side of the planet buddy. It's currently 16/8 outdoors here atm. Planted start of October, harvested early December. Hmmm... I think that's roughly 2 months.

No offence to you intended buddy. Skywalker is a nice strain. You've a nice grow going. Just thought I'd share something different with ya. Think different auto and 60 day wonder buddy.

I was just ribbing you, sorry if seemed hard I apologize for and no worries or offence I am always amazed at the end it, me being really wrong lol

So I got a surprise this morning
20201221_101842.jpg

I dropped everything and got it out of the grow room. I have a clue that I might have some autoflower pollen on my hands. This has milky and amber trics and is ready so I'm going to trim it down and start drying it but leave that top to fill out those sacks. This would be a nice game changer for me if I can get some seeds to propagate off my next grow so it's not a long shot just a long play and at least a couple months away.
20201221_105013.jpg

That's before I trimmed it down, right now it's only the top flowers left. I got 64 grams wet off it and put it in a paper bag. The flowers were solid and no fluff except those lovely ;) lower unicorn larf horns lol
I would add that this is 98 days from seed and is by far the shortest fkn plant I've ever grown. If, this was the norm for autos I'd get out of that game fast.

I have an issue
20201227_070523.jpg

Are there to many pistols
20201227_070615.jpg

On these plants? The 2nd pic is one of the twin female photos, 100dfs, 27 days past the flip. They are almost done stretching and are stacking up new pistols everyday. The new lights are kicking ass and run just hot enough while on that I don't need to run an extra heater. The inkbird itc306 controller works perfectly on keeping the nights at 70f, so I cut out an extra expense having it run 24/7. And it doesn't run at all during lights on. So..
20201223_113402.jpg

My Bruce Banner autos that are 110dfs are trying to stack some new pistols and trics are clear milky and some amber. I did strap some of the branches back down last week and its responding well. As long as I see new pistols popping I'm letting them go, most of the flowers are no bigger than a US quarter in diameter. I already have two of each BB and Gelato sprouting and about ready for their big pots.
Oh man, I cut that little auto with the pollen, paper bagged it to about 65% and now its burping and curing. I kept one small branch in the bag, it dried out by itself in a day and wow, it knocked me out with just a few hits. The sticky is all in there just not a great yield.
