Stomach pains - seeking advice

I have smoked off & on for most of my life starting in my late teens. Usually this was no more than a month or 2 straight. For roughly the 8-10 months I have been daily due to mental health & back pain. On average Im about 3-5 joints a day. For the past few weeks I have been experiencing some really narley stomach pains shortly after smoking. The funny thing is I can feel my back pain more pronounced than before. Now keep in mind what we get around here is just your average piney (most of the time) street schwag. I would love to try some of the stuff I see on here, but I guess I dont know the right peeps.

Anyhow took a 24 hr+ break a few days back and pain is not bad at all. I dont really get the munchies so I am not eating anything weird. I am a very active person and smoke makes me appreciate things much more. I am not working due to my health issues and am a avid garage guy. I know I need a tolerance break longer than 24. Current use is an oz about every 2-3 weeks. Oh yeah not to be nasty but my stool was green for a day and a half after the 24 hr break. Has anyone experienced similar issues or give me some insight on what I can eat or drink that will help? I cant get checked by doc as insurance hasnt started yet so some of you dedicated peeps gotta have some info on this.

I'm not a doctor and have no medical training but I don't see any corelation between your symptoms and Cannabis.

Suggest you take a longer break and see if the symptoms subside

Strongly suggest you see a doctor - insurance or not.

Best wishes to you; let us know how you make out

HI Pres.

I to do not think the smoking has anything to do with your problems,I have
Ankylosing spondylitis where my spine is fusing and all my joints going to hell
sometimes when I smoke and think about my back or joint pain it gets more intense, but then I'll do something else and it actually helps me focus away from the pain and its much better.colored stools can be vitamins certain foods a lot of things.if that doesen't go away in a few more days I'd find the source-what am I eating, pills such as vitamins, and I know if something is wrong in my stomach it makes my back all the worse and visa versa.
If it all continues just go to e.r. you can pay them 20 bucks a month if you have too but if it keeps up it also may be a parasite, but probably some kind of food poisoning that will go away once its clear of your body.keep us posted.also for better smoke think about growing your own.

Soniq420 - Thanks for the relocate wasn't sure were to put. I only have like 2 weeks for insurance so I was hoping to ride it out.

spike69 - I also wondered if I was just noticing things more as mj is very good at intensifying alot of things for me. But yesterday it moved from right side to left side and felt like it was gonna pop so to say. I was really hoping it has nothing to do with this because mj has flipped my life around from where I was heading. I honestly cant see myself without. I layed off drinking, stopped smoking cigarettes cold turkey after 15+ years & have become more productive and the list goes on. I always told the wife that when I smoke it brings me down to an average level of intelligence and being. ( My brain finally gets a break) I would love to grow my own but is not at all possible for me. Again not being nasty but the stool has a slight smell that resembles my current schwag. Honestly I probably just need better connections or more money.

Oh yeah I was reading the Understanding you high article and the first few graphs did mention noticing pain more when using in some scenarios.

Soniq420 had the best advice. Also, do a Google search of Green Stools and see if anything rings a bell.

FreakNature - I've been all over google which lead me to post here. In fact if you search (can marijuana cause stomach pains) you will see alot of info. Again first instinct was to come on here cause lets face it theres a whole lot of tokin goin on here.

Medel - No pepto and if I remember correctly pepto turns it black.

Good news is stool is no longer green but still a little funny on the smell. I am going on my first 48hrs tolerance at the moment. I do still feel pain my stomach mostly the right side but not quite as bad. Very irritating but not as nasty.

Well folks with the advice on here and my wife asking me to go, I finally went into er last night. After X-rays the doc told me I had an unusually high amount of gas and was concerned something else was wrong (he mentioned colitis) and ordered a CT. That's where things got all scary. I have swollen lymph nodes on each side of stomach and the possibility of cancer was thrown around a few times. I had to wait a good 45 minutes until the CT results came back. Thank God everything came back fine. No colitis, no signs of cancer, lab work, blood count all came back normal. As of now claiming a bladder/urinary tract infection but I gotta follow up with specialist for some bumps.

Basically states it should be better in 3 days if not back to er. So thats the story for now. Much obliged to all who posted back on this.

I am still on my tolerance break as of now. Going on 72hrs and am considering a minimal of 4 days. When i do come back I would like to use differently then smoking but I cant afford a decent vape right now. Has anyone tried any of the internet plans for a vape with success or is that just a waist of time?

Now that you've seen a doctor I can offer that I smoke it and the affects are beneficial to my otherwise whacked out gastrointestinal tract. Makes life much better. I hope you get it all figured out and find a satisfactory regimen of treatment.

I've tried the light bulb vape...kind of crude but probably worked OK. As little as I use, I'm not personally concerned about the smoke from bubble hash. People smoke 2 packs a day of nasty legal stuff w/ 500 awful chemicals in each puff for most of their adult lives and can still live to 100...so an innocuous herb consumed in relatively minute quantities doesn't scare me. Kudos, though, to you for seeking the very best method for your health.

You might also consider Green Dragon in one of it's many iterations. It's kind of chore to process it, and for me there's always the issue of dose titration. Also, since the processing is in a home kitchen environment is really pretty inconsistent, my concern is that I may not be getting all of the goodness out of the herb. However, for the batches that worked, they really seemed to be beneficial to my GI system. More so than just smoking. Part of it may be that I mixed the used mash into yogurt and gagged it down...adding fiber to my diet. Regardless, I definitely enjoyed the affects of the cannabinoids, though.

Diet is of course another thing you've probably considered. Fiber Fiber Fiber lol

Just FYI, some people tend to swallow alot when they smoke often. that will cause you to swallow some of the smoke which will end up in your stomach and digestive tract. that smoke may irritate the lining of the your bowel and cause some pain. Usually this is the case if you fart alot after you smoke. Just take smaller hits and hopefully you won't swallow any of the smoke. :peace:

Sorry I havent posted back in awhile. I am still battling this issue. It is very strange & I cant seem to figure out what is causing it. Sometimes I can still smoke without feeling it but more often then not. I have been back to the er and 2 doctors since. The er told be the uti was getting better and switched antibiotics and told me it was a stress/anxiety situation. The next doc tested my urine & sent it to a lab to test for std (even though I am happily married but hey ya never know) that came back negative, although I believe they said there was a low white blood in urine. Then told me possibly IBS or muscle spasms & tried me on dicyclomine 4 times a day. Those seemed to help but only enough to make you think it was those if ya know what I mean. New family doc now that I have insurance, says he feels confident that it is muscle related & am a lean guy that is seeing & getting muscles not everyone gets the chance too. So sit around for awhile and see if not a colonoscopy would be next. So sadly my issue still resides even when not smoking just not as bad or maybe its just I am smoking more then not ;).

Anywho tried making some GD and tried some first time eating with minor success. Infact 4ml of GD is doing me ok right now but could be better. My first cookie was a dud and I made butter from the GD leftovers and had two pieces of toast one morning with all the butter and had a nice relaxing morning for about 3-4 hours. I couldnt waste the bud from the GD and I never made butter so I figured why not. Heck I even went to my local shop and added a niece piece :bong:. I need to figure this out cause I have quit twice now from this and my life goes down hill real fast without. Oh plus all the docs think its in my head or treat me different because of the anxiety & bipolar disorder. Oops yup I said it I'm bipolar :cheer:. God I get tired of being labeled. Why do ya think I like my :smokin:.

Anyways if anyone managed to read through this I have added a few ailments to my list. I now have funny stools. The swelling on my stomach is not a lymph node as it now goes up to the rib cage on both sides. My rectum feels like it is under pressure or to tight. There are so many more minor details but these are the annoying ones.

Freaknature - yeah I tried the light bulb vap but didnt want to say so. lol Thanks for mentioning the GD. I need to work on it unless my tolerance is diff with ingestion. The dosing is a bit weird for sure. I took 4ml round 4:20 and followed that with another 4 ml at 6:30 and a "how you doin"

Firestone - See now thats weird its always helped me with pain just not with this for some reason.

Wolfbuddie - Actually I read that somewhere before I posted here. You should of seen me smoking well when I was alone anyway. It's not that but it's funny and thanx for mentioning it.

Again sorry for the long post but as I was typing I felt an overwhelming urge to smile and right now I feel like I know each an every one of ya. The only people I have ever gotten along with. Now that's a label I don't mind :smokin:

Pres,

sorry to hear that you still don't have an answer to this. I would keep after the doctors until they can find out what really is the problem. some Doctors are better than others at diagnosing problems like this. keep bringing it up to the doctor every time you see him. don't let him just pass it off as something minor. It's your health, not his.

Best wishes and hope you feel better soon. Take care. :peace:

Thanks spike69 & wolfbuddie.

My wife called her parents doctor & explained my situation with the assistant. The assistant is going to consult the doc & call back tomorrow basically to let me no my best route and if he will accept me as a patient. I never had a physical or anything before so he may start me on that, but to be honest I am a little nervous things may need attention. I havent had a family or steady doc since like 9 years old, so alot of neglect.

I also never mentioned that this also started after seeing a chiropractor. Not sure if it has anything to do with it. Been spending way too much time on trying to pin point what started it & what makes things worst. I got a great winter project to work on in the garage but cant touch it due to this. I took a bentyl today and again it kinda seems to help but not enough to confirm. I havent touched anything since the GD last night & can feel myself getting edgy. I snap at some of the most stupid crap & fall into a bit of depression. I did notice that one of the buds I got tend to help with the pain better so I am assuming it's more indica. I just want my life back but hey who wouldnt.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that my blood pressure was a bit high at the last doc I saw. First time I have ever had high BP. They just assumed I was nervous.

Hey all! The doc office still hasnt called back & every time I call they still claim they need to talk to the doc first. Kinda retarded if ya ask me. In the meantime I have been looking for more info & started logging things. It does sound like it is in the IBD family. I am hoping not as far as crohn's or anything. Can some of you peeps that have a bowel disorder share what disorder you have and what things you do to help such as what are your trigger foods and do large meals play a role. Any noticeable swelling, blood in stool, things of that nature. I had 2 days were I was doing relatively good but I think I let my guard down and started eating like normal & feel more discomfort again. I get a swelling on both sides of my abdomen muscles that start below my belly button & go what appears to be under my ribs. One side can swell more then the other & sometimes I wake up without swelling. I also feel like I am getting more sensitive to joint pain & the cold does not help.

Hello Pres,

I have a couple of questions and I hope they are not deemed invasive. First off, I have Crohn's disease. It's an awful disease. The AMA's prescription program, immuno deficiency disease med's etc...., can be worse than the disease. I've been battling this disease for 5 years now. I hope you don't have it. MJ is the only thing that has helped me deal with it. That and some diet changes. Do a web search for Celiac disease also. You might be suprised what you find out. You may find out some things that will fit your symtoms there.

OK, here are the 2 questions. 1. What is your age and 2, have you had a colonoscopy? Fistula's in the large intestine, especially near the tranverse/ descending angle can do what you have described. When I had my first colonoscopy the doctor had to byopsy 65 fistulas from my large intestine. Talk about pain. Another thing that you might have over looked is C-DIFF. I had C-DIFF for a year or so and it tore my guts up. The reason I didn't know it was C-DIFF was because of all the opiates I had to take because of some other serious things and pain I was dealing with. If you have no insurance and are broke remember that by law a health care facility may not deny you treatment. You will have to pay $10.00 a month or there are programs that have grant donations that might pick up the tab.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and I hope everything works out for you. Blessings,

PFirefly

At this point I dont consider any questions invasive. I just want my life back! I hear ya with all the meds, being bipolar they have tried me on so many meds its crazy. I have an extreme tolerance & have been on the maximum dosage of everything they put me on. Such as 1600mg of seroquel, 3500 mg of depakote and the list goes on. I do not take anything anymore other than the mj, it's just not worth it anymore. Especially when you see lawsuit commercials for something you just quit taking.

I am 29 and a colonoscopy should take place within 2 weeks. Actually just saw a doc yesterday & got a referral just waiting for the appointment confirmation. The new doc again clarified that my blood levels and ct were good & told me the only thing they didnt test was something to do with pancreas levels I think. The funny thing is he told me I did not have a bladder infection from the beginning & they just used that to push me out. He did however confirm that I have some enlarged lymph nodes. Thanks for the info on the various possibilities. I have read about all except the c-diff.

I also just found out that my old man's sis passed from stomach cancer. I dont know much about my family & honestly I'm pretty sure that's where my mental issues stem from. Just one of those things that you prefer to bury. I am on disability & insurance started for me back in october so I am thankful for that. Again thank you for the informative post & the blessings.

Well some good news I suppose. I go in for a colonoscopy at the end of the week so hopefully I will get some answers to this soon. Just hoping that this will figure something out & hopefully nothing bad. I had a bit of a break with this yesterday so I spent most of my day trying to get some work done in the garage. I'll tell ya, when you go through something like this for an extended period of time with no answers you learn to appreciate what good days you have. I feel sorry for others that have to deal with any type of issues on a daily basis. Much obliged to all who have posted, kinda helped keep me busy anyway. Until the next..... :smokin:
