The Deep Water Culture Home

hey MC, (or anyone else) who's had experience with supercropping. do you have to tie down the stem that u bend, or can u just let them stay that way? i was thinking about trying it on 2 of the 4 plants u know?

close to the switch... 1 week - 5 weeks vegging. the ones on the right have been vegging 3.5-5 weeks and the left tank has been veggin
1-3.5 weeks. there is 2 vegging for 1.5 weeks and they are hard to see.. Hope that they shoot up so they dont get covered by leaves. 10 Purple haze clones

Hey everyone

Where can I find a cover that will fit the original bubblponics res? I'd like to replace the cover with a cover that has 3 holes that I would add; 2 for plants and one for a maintenance port.

Peace

Sam

My plants need help! Got major curling and yellowing of the leaves, I would post everything on here but the post is really long. So im asking if you guys could come over to my grow and help me out where all the info is cuz i dont want to double post the same exact thing.

:thanks:

GN,

Sorry I missed the question on supercropping earlier. The answer is if you supercrop it right it will bend 90* and you can place it at any angle you want and it will stay that way for the most part. Don't touch it while it heals. I bend it to cover a blank area and that gets it out of the way of the underbud so they can spring up. Over the next 2-3 days after you supercrop, the plant will heal the stem at the bend point and it may even rise up a couple of inches. The thing that does happen all the time is that the growing tip with begin to grow straight up again but only the tip and it will keep growing. Sometimes my plants looks S shaped

Soniq420,

are you back yet?

;)

When Soniq420 gets back, he is going to put a Deep Water Culture - Deep Water Culture Logo in the Smileys for us. Just for the Deep Water Culture!

Brother McBudz is our smiley specialist, he's on the case ;)

Soniq420 told me that he would make any thread a STICKY that I request, but he is away on a business trip today. We'll get that a sticky asap. You sure did a great job Jonny

Didn't get many people come to my grow to help so I decided to post here.

pH: 6.0-6.5 according to the test strips from SH hydro (ordered a pH pen should be here tuesday or wedn)

Lights: 2 85 watt CFL multi pectrum

Light schedule: 24/0

Not all is well over here, my leafs are curling and yellowing. One of them started to curl before nutes were even added but the leaves were still a healthy green. Also there are only one that has roots going on the same one from previous pictures, none of the others have developed roots. I'm thinking something like Nitrogen deficiency, or over watering because it seems like im having stunted growth. Help me save my babies, i tried to give as much info as possible.:thanks:
Edit: The yellowing Problem started sometime after the first feeding... I think lol

Need to feed em more nitrogen. Looks they they are severely deficient in one or more elements mainly N. Afraid I don't have experience with alaska fish ferts but I would either up the dose or look into a more well known well rounded nutrient like Fox Farms Grow Big and Tiger Bloom, or Age Old Nutrients Grow and Bloom.

Make sure the pH of your soil is 6.3 to 6.7.

so this is a soil grow. i know this isnt the right section but i know a few of you have experience with soil. im using cheap organic potting soil from stines. alaskan fish fert. and molasses.

What PPM is your 1/4 dose grow nute? Shoot for 400-600ppm at seedling stage. Move up from there. Looks like your plants are hungry. Keep pH down 5.5-6.2

You'd have to use a lot of lamps. I just set up 8- 55w, you'd have to use at least 16 to match mine, that could be pretty unwieldly.

thanks fry the store up the roads hadem on sale 4$ each i alreay have a 400mh and just added a 200 w cfl plus 26 s package says they put out 1700 lumens that gives me 90,000 lumens on 6 plants n a 2x4 x5 grow tent woo hoo man

I want to apologize to all those asking for help and advice here. I am so very busy re-doing the Tutorial, and I know for sure that any advice given by Mostly Crazy, Jonnybtreed, RpSmoker, C5R, Social Smoker, FryingPan, Olias, and any other seasoned Deep Water Culture is great advice. I'l be checking in and out of this thread.

And a great big Thank you to Soniq420! You are awesome!

Wow, cool man. If you're adding to other light you've got I say more lumens are more lumens. As long as you're getting 60-65 lumens / per watt why not? The more the merrier! Plus you can strategically place them for a particular spot that may need some special attention.

What is you H2O temp? I am mid way through my first grow and I assure you of two huge mistakes. Water temps and not using distilled H20. I know the latter is debated, but I found I was fighting PH daily with city water. I also switched to distilled and add just under 1/4 tsp of PH up (from SH) per gallon and absolutely no PH fluctuations or issues! Also, my water temps got in the upper 70's to almost 80. Just about killed my plants. I switched to the distilled and started venting my room and got the water down to 72 and the plants took off like crazy. Get you H20 temps down if they are high. That was what was killing me....good luck

Tdogg, they are not "that bad"! All your listed stats sound good to me.
The pics I see here is when I would have started 1/4 dose of Grow and Micro. I think MAYBE when you did the Drain, you did not get all 6 gallons and when you added a 2nd 1/4 dose, you got a mild nute burn. I would replace two gallons of water with plain pHed water and have my lights 2 to 3 inches near and wait a couple of day, and give them time. WHEN you see the 6th leaf, add a 2nd 1/4 dose of nutes..

Deep Water Culture,

please visit this thread

Feeding

and welcome him here and comment on his grow. He feels left out.

Mostly Crazy,

I get asked here how to be a Deep Water Culture and what is a Deep Water Culture. I know we are not 100% PRO Organization, but I do think we need to get back to promoting ourselves, displaying a logo, (Soniq420 is working on it for us, to
be added to the Smileys), back to Inviting newbies to join us, and we need to get back to promoting our pledge to newbs too.

I've seen two dozen Deep Water Culture disappear from here recently, and we also need to invite them back ro encourge them to stick around.

What do you and other B'Heads think?
