Thrips

Seems like I have thrips on my plants. They are very tiny, yellowish, and long. I tried to get rid of them with insect soap but wasn't very effective. I have 3 weeks left from flowering. I uploaded a photo from what I think they look like altought I am not 100% sure they are the same species. Soap was kind of effective for a few days but they came back. I am also worried about using it in the flowering stage. Any advice?

Thanks in advance

it always helps to identify the pest(s) first, either ewelers loupe or wifi mini microscope is the tool needed, snip a few fans leaves & carry to table, prop scope for viewing stability and check leaf undersides

Better pics would help, that light yellow really distorts the image…. we can tell a lot more if we can see what shade of green your chicks are sporting. Turn grow light off and use phone flash or move to better indoor light. While you’ve got her in the shop may as well get full tune up

2nd pic is really jacked up… lots of pin pricks or honey dew…. maybe both. The fan leaves have strong down taco curl, I’ve seen that before from pest (mite) infestation. I would prolly go with our sponsor SNS other product choices might be Safers soap as opposed to Neem Oil.

A lot of peeps don’t know how to spray properly but just in case… remove plant from under grow lights & spray leaf undersides first…. yup when spraying for pests always go up her skirt first cuz that’s where most critters live & attach their eggs….after getting good coverage up skirt then spray from top down. I try to avoid spraying buds & pistils….

let the spray dry for a few hours then spray again with just plain water in the same manner, go up her skirt first- get it all rinsed off, then do same from top down. The goal is to kill the critters then rinse the spray back off so it doesn’t clog leaf stomata or build up on foliage from multiple applications

Either move her from tent or raise your grow light so you don’t burn her up while she is wet & coated with spray, best to do this right at lights out

Might want to consider bud washing…. I do every single plant & nope doesn’t hurt your trichs

Yeap those are Thrips. I had them in late flower and used diatomaceous earth on the soil and got rid of them. They drop off the plant down into the soil and reproduce. Diatomaceous earth breaks the life cycle and It is worth it while looking for other solutions .

Thank you, I give it a go
