TokaM0n's 400w 4x4 Tent Soil Grow

Noticed this new growth where I topped this plant. Assuming this isn't supposed to happen with topping?

Definitely overdue for an update. For now I will cover the younger plants and will get to the older ones a little later today.

These three ladies were transplanted on 5/18 from solo cups into 2 gallon fabric pots. A few days later on 5/21 I topped the three younger plants at the 4th node if I'm not mistaken. Interestingly I ended up FIMing two of them which turned out to be a happy accident. They've only been watered once since the transplanting and are growing vigorously now that they've recovered from both the transplant and topping.

Also, I started some LST on them using some coat hangers and garden ties. Trying to develop 4 main branches to prep them for scrog. The undergrowth is really popping off now as. Wet happy with their progress.

Today marks day 33 for the mystery Bag Seed and White Widow. On 5/16 I topped both of these and then started some LST a couple days later. I bent the main stems of each plant adjacent to the top soil. Then went in with coat hanger wire to evenly spread out the branches. Both strains seem to be responding well to the LST and all those lateral branches have gotten a decent amount of light now and have been filling in.

Hindsight 20/20 I wish that I had topped them earlier than I did. These were topped at day 22 where as my three younger plants were topped at day 18. I can't really complain though since I'm getting exposure to a couple different ways to LST, and the canopy seems pretty even thus far.

These two also started showing signs of what I speculate to be a calcium deficiency. I'll have to get a picture later on but mostly yellow specs showing up on new growth. I figured it was due to using distilled water with no calmag.

UPDATE: Day 41 of veg (8 days since last post)

Been quite productive with the ladies since my last post:

(1) TRANSPLANTED 2 OLDER PLANTS (White Widow & Bag Seed):
The two older were transplanted into 5 gallon fabric pots. They're on day 41 of veg and seemed like they were beginning to be really deficient (I speculated calcium and magnesium). I have nutes in the mail right now and are going to be here at the end of this week. I'm trying out the Nectar For The Gods sample pack. Pretty stoked to nectar the ladies up since I've only heard good things about them.

In the mean time, I figured I could bide for some time by transplanting them into their final pot size giving them the extra nutrients. Aside from that, they were needing water every two days or less.

When I did the transplant the only thing I added to the soil was Mykos. Other than that, I just used more Fox Farm Ocean Forest and a 5 gallon fabric pot. After that, I redid the LST work that I had started previously.

(2) CONTINUED LST:
I continued with LST on all of the plants. The White Widow and Bag Seed are about 10 days older than the younger three so I've been concerned about the difference in growth. I figured I'd bridge the gap with trying a couple different LST techniques to keep the canopies even. I feel like I've been pretty successful wth it.

In order to keep the canopies level I stopped LST on the younger three plants (Maui Wawi, Critical +, & Red Leicester Tease). Their canopies are in line with the older 2. After I repot them into 5 gallon pots in a week or so, I'll put them all under scrog net and fill it out as much as I can before I flip to 12/12.

UPDATE:
Day 46 - White Widow & Bag Seed
Day 37 - Maui Wawi & Critical +
Day 35 - Red Leicester Tease

It's been 5 days since my last update. Since then I've mainly been easing off the LST. I took all the wire hangers out of the WW and Bag Seed. The only LST on the younger three is the two top main branches are tied down to the side of the pots. I'm looking to fill in more of the canopy during the end of my veg cycle.

Aside from LST, I have been pruning a bit. Nothing excessive, but anything really impeding a bid site had to go. For the bag seed and WW this meant removing some of the middle under foliage. As well as anything dead/dying now that the canopy is more developed. Pruning for the MW, Crit+, and RLT consisted of snipping the four inner fan leaves at the top of the canopy to open up the middle of the plant.

Stoked to have gotten my sample pack of Nectar For The Gods yesterday. Finally was able to Nectar up the ladies and get nutes going.

Yesterday was the first feeding for all of the plants. Probably a little overdue. I could swear that even after 5 hours they were looking better. Couldn't wait to get them fed and see how they liked it.

Lastly, I finally got around to getting my grow journal in Excel cleaned up. I started by using a template I found online and added/subtracted a lot for my needs. Pretty helpful if you ask me. I don't think I could keep a handwritten notebook. I really wish I started this from day 1 but underestimated how little data I was taking during early/middle veg. Better late than never I suppose!

Here's a couple screen shots if anyone is interested in what I keep for data. Also let me know if you track something you see I'm missing. Ultimately it would be cool to add some RGR analysis and some charts:

That template looks awesome! Where did you find it?

I found it online at a website called Dope Diary. Many thanks to the creator and original poster. I think its a good template to work off of and really fine tune to your grow. Also a couple of things I found confusing I tweaked. Let me know if you use it and see something I'm missing that you find useful.

Some stuff I added:
Columns for - LST, plant length, low temp, low humidity, watering amount, and soil runoff pH

Stats - I went to all the breeders websites and got all the information for each strain just so I dont have to go looking anymore. Also added a central spot for daily climate and tied all the specific strain pages to it to save some time.

Some stuff I took away:
Columns for - CO2, and H20 level

Sweet! Thanks for sharing. I made one with items I wanted to track, but always looking to see if there's something that requires monitoring, or stuff that's not necessary, like daily lux in a tent lol

Definitely gonna give it a good once over when I get back home in a few days. Visiting family thats only a couple hours away which is cool. And with the lights (and now feeding) on timers, I'm able to stay away from home for extended periods without having to worry about finding a plant sitter! Using an office trash can as my reservoir, it holds about 2.5 gallons so I could easily be gone for a week, maybe two, but I would miss my lil girl too much :laughtwo:

The screenshots are very helpful. Thanks!

I like that res setup. I've been curious how most ppl go about automating things enough to leave and not come home to dead ladies. Do you just train for canopy height, or do you worry about them growing into the light?

The little automated system was 32 on amazon and I think the max it does is 32oz in 90 seconds, which is about what I give my lady anyway. Once I introduce more girls, I'll have to water more often than the 4-5 days I'm doing now but that won't be a problem for the little waterer. It can water as often as every hour up to every 30 days.

Since my tent is a small little 24"x24"x48" I'm training for canopy. I only vegged for 5 weeks from seed as this is my first grow and I didn't want to have to deal with possibly running out of space. So once it hit 9-10 inches...giggity...I switched to 12/12. There's about 18" to the light so I think it won't get too big, and i dont think heat will be an issue until she gets within 6" of the light.

What I'm really curious about is the yield. If a 5 week veg doesn't get me about 1oz, I'll go longer the next grow. With that being said, I know each plant is different so mostly I'll play my timing by ear. Guess I'll stick to a 12" rule l...giggity...since they usually double as long as I keep it 12 and under I think everything will work out perfectly.

#1 reason why I used a bag seed. Didn't wanna waste some good seeds on my learning curve. Next grow I'm thinking of squeezing 2 autos and 1 photo in there, and not sure if I want to let the photo veg for 8 weeks through the duration of the autos, or leave it in my veg dome and drop it in a couple weeks later and give her 6 weeks. Fuck it. 8 weeks. Go hard or go home right? :laughtwo:

Lmao, love Family Guy. In case you didn't know you can always find Family Guy live 24/7 on YouTube. I'm going to give this unit a look online thanks for the tip. I'm trying to go away in a couple weekends but need to find a plant sitter. Never thought I'd need one of those haha.

I'm training for canopy as well. I'm paranoid about outgrowing my tent. I like that auto/photo play. Solid timing. I'm running 1 tent ATM and that would have been perfect if I had one auto which would be done far before my photos.

I'm currently on weeks 6 and 7 for my 5 girls. I low key wish I stuck with 4 plants. Seems like it's getting tight in there with 5 plants and not even at week 8. Probably going to flip in a week. But fuck yea, 8 weeks or bust homes .
