What a stretch

I did a small defoliation on these Dec 8 I think. I scrog netted them the 12th and switched to flower that Sunday night. My tallest plant was close to 32” from soil to tip.

As of today my tallest plant is right at 48”. The others are not far behind. Never expected that. Will they Stop, lol? I didn’t do any lst or anything. I simply topped them at the 5th and let them go. This is my first grow so I tried to keep it simple. Also there is a bit of distance between leafs and nodes. Is this ok? Will buds fill the gaps. Thanx for looking.

Failed to mention it but the stalks are an inch thick.

Hey @IKilledIt beautiful garden my friend.
Do you have a journal.
Everything looks pretty good for your first grow. Honestly. :thumb:
Color is a touch light.
What nutrients are you using?
What watts is that light?
Rule of thumb is that they will double in size when flipped to flower.
Should be finished stretching by week 3 at the latest.
I have had sativas that almost tripled in size.
So hopefully the stretch doesn't hit the light.
Watch for light burn at the tops.

Stay safe

Thanx Bill. Well I’m running 3 TSW 2000’s. I have them about 18” off the plants on 100%. Pulled 3 males the other day. So I have plenty of room and lighting. I just started using Advanced ph’d nutes ( grow micro bloom) 1/2 strength since my ppm’s were in the 800’s. Also added 1/2 strength Cal/mag. Some molasses on the side. But other then that they’ve been feeding off the FFOF plus I top dressed with OF 2 weeks ago. Had a bad run with some miracle grow after the first transplant. Had to pull them. Do a root wash. Finally got them In decent soil. It’s been a battle to say the least. And you are correct. Some of the newer growth is light green. But I have been battling with one particular plant. She has been lime green from the beginning. Not sure what to do with her to be honest. Any suggestions? Also should I try and pull these girls down a bit to maybe reduce height?

Here’s a pic I took a few minutes ago. Any advice is Greatly Appreciated. And Thanx again.

Yes you can super crop those tall branches and drop you lights.
Bump your ppm's try use your schedule for your nutrients.
Don't go 1/2 strength they are hungry right now.
What is your water with nothing in it? Ppm's?

My water is 140 straight out of the tap. It’s water day tomorrow so I’ll up the food to full strength. So Super Cropping is ok even since they’ve began to flower and won’t stress them to bad? And thanx for the advice friend.
It doesn't bother them at all.
Get the canopy as flat as you can.
Then gradually drop the light.
Watch the tops.

Thanx for the advice. I did a little super cropping on them tonight and got the tops laid down. Today was actually water day but it got late on me. So after cropping I went ahead feed and watered. Got finished right at lights out so all is well. I’ll slowly work the lights down tomorrow. Thanx again.

Although they still transpire in the dark I find it beneficial to water them when the lights come on.
Life gets in the way I understand.
But try to do it when lights on if possible. :Namaste:

testing a stretch reducing technique now myself
the one im trying says to have light on temps 1-2 deg C cooler than lights off temps
for instance i have my lights on temps at 24c and lights off temps at 26c until the stretch is dont then my lights on and lights off temps will both be the same of 22c.

another technique i read was to leave the blue sprectrum light on for until the stretch is done
for instance ill try leaving my MH bulb in until stretch is over then switch to the HPS

i will be doing both techniques the next run just for fun

Update:
Well I think they have stopped stretching. But one seems to still be pushing. She was a late flower compared to the others and she’s the tallest. They went from 32 “ Scrogged at start of flower now pushing 60 plus inches. Got so bushy and out of hand I had to do a major defoil and trim just to get light penetration. Now my light is basically 6” from the ceiling. Bud site’s galore. Looking like a great harvest.

I do see some larfy suckers branches but I’m not wanting to stress them to much. Should I leave them or trim them. Thanx for the advice. I greatly appreciate it.

Good afternoon @IKilledIt garden looks good.
I would not pluck or fuss with her.
Don't remove any more leaves.
If anything I would drop that light as close as I could get it with out damage.
Those tall main stems can be tied over out of the way.
You have a lot of room there.
Bend them over and drop your lights. :thumb:
Don't pluck anyone.

As of now my lights are 14 “ above. So ratchet strap cranks are gone. Had to take the supplied metal cable and re run it as pictured. It was right at 8” above the tallest plant. But I felt it was to close. Gonna hit the hardware store tomorrow and see what I can fix up to get as close to the tops as possible and still raise if need be. Thanx for the advice. I greatly appreciate it.
