What is happening to my newly-transplanted plants?

You don't transplant autoflowers. That is probably the problem. Just keep growing them. They will be alright.

The plants also look like they're going in to the flowering phase. I'm seeing a bunch of pistols. Is that normal for the size of my plants? Last year they were much larger when they started flowering. Then again, I got off to a much slower start this season. Here's a pic:

Why do you think it’s not the nutes you splashed on them? That would be the most logical reason, given how totally random these spots appear. Another possibility is sun scald if you just recently moved them outside.

I think you're right. I looked more closely and I can even see the outline of some dried up stray nutrient droplets.

Autos do what autos do and you kinda get what you get. If they got stunted or grew slowly at the start like you say, they will probably be smaller. Or it could be the strain. Stuff like Lowrider is supposed to be short.

Then again, maybe they hate you and this is their little rebellion to deny you of a bountiful harvest.

Do you think they should be topped at some point? I did that last year and they grew nice and wide with tons of buds.

Definitely not. If they're flowering it's way too late.
