When to take the domes off?

Hi. I have started two white widow from seed with the domes on them. How long should I wait to remove them?

You don't remove them in one go. You'll need to harden off your plants. There are several ways to do this. Some remove for about 20 minutes once a day, then add more intervals until they can leave them off. Some raise the dome a little each day. Some never use the domes. I have mine in 4" / 10cm nursery pots under a humidity dome to start, with the vents open. When the first set of true leaves appear, I start raising the dome.

I initially use domes so nothing dries out while waiting for the seed to germinate-but
as soon as I see the plant emerging from the soil, the dome comes off...my thinking is
if they don't get used to it they don't miss it...
And there's very little danger of them "damping off" if they're not under a dome.
