First time grower looking for your advice

Hi

I'm looking for all the help I can get as I'm making my first attempt to grow and apart from what I read I have no help or human reference. I have told no one what I am doing and the odd conversation I do casually strike up is with inexperienced but somehow expert growers. i.e. people who know it all but never did it!
