Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

It's amazing how that weight can sneak up on you!
It really is. I saw it but I didn't see it, if that makes any sense. But when I starting taking down Copy I got a big hint. Each significant branch was way heavy!
Is that 165 + 60 for a total of 225g? Or did you factor the 60 into the original 165?

Either way it looks like those last 20 days made a bit of difference for Copy.
The additional 60 was not factored into Partial Paste's total, so close to 20oz for all three.:)

Those 20 days did help some.

Bud density improved. However, she only had a slight trace of amber -- was nearly all cloudy.

Hello again.

I did another half-assed trim job. This time on Copy. She'll be bowl-trimmed once she's dry enough.

Here's the pile o' weed from her takedown:

Here's what her trichs looked like at the end:

Where was I? I don't know! Sweet harvest GDB! And it's comforting to know math is real when Shed's recipe grew as well as a pro's! Nice going @InTheShed !

Hello gang.

I took Copy (chopped Mar. 7) out of the fridge on Tuesday, after 9 days in, and have been burping her down since then. This morning she's holding steady at 60RH and will be bagged for curing.

Her tentmate Paste (mostly chopped Feb. 18) was also dried in the fridge. She's been bagged and curing for a few weeks now.

The final weights on both:

Paste -- 165g

I now know I took her down too early. Prompted into action by the appearance of a single seed and serial foxtailing, I made a huge mistake by jumping the gun. Her buds are somewhat light and airy. In a nutshell, she doesn't taste very good, doesn't get me very high and doesn't produce very much rosin when smashed. Pain balm maybe? (BTW, I lost track of the seed. Shame. I wanted to see if it was viable.)

Copy -- 331g

She got to stand for about 18 days after Paste was taken and that time served her well. I could tell she was heavy when I was chopping her, but I didn't think it was this heavy! She nearly overran my large bowl.

Her buds are firm and heavy. I've yet to try her but I strongly suspect she'll be superior to her tentmate.

You may recall that when I took down Paste I left a lot of her bottom growth in place to further mature. The remainder was taken down on Mar. 10 so she got 20 more days of growth over the original plant.

Partial Paste is still in the fridge, but she'll be coming out within the next few days.

She now weighs 82g with the stems still attached. I'm guessing I'll get at least another 60+ grams from her.

So that's the skinny on the Forbidden Fruit clones.

I grew a pound without even realizing I was doing it! :Rasta:

Lastly, I broke out my chef's apron last night and made some infused "Almond Joy" cookies. I used 113g of cannabutter for 16 cookies. They contain shaved coconut, almonds and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Modestly speaking, they are friggin' delicious and fairly potent too!

That's today's news.

It will likely be quiet here for a minute.

I'll be back to give smoke/smash reports on Copy and Partial Paste when the time is right.

Until then, happy growing to you all.

Thanks for taking an interest!

Sorry I haven’t been here much at all but I have been looking in intermittently, and congrats on the harvest! I can see why you’re more psyched for the bigger harvest girl. I hate when I feel forced to take them earlier than I like. But a pound is a pound. Lol!

Hello gang.

It's good to be back to my thread with the rhyming title!

When I made the decision to keep this thread alive I intended to use it to document grows from clones. But I haven't been growing many (any?) clones since I made that decision. I often find that clones just get in the way of other new (to me) strains that I want to try. So I'm not a big cloner, though I do it occasionally.

Well, I'm trying to grow a few now so here I am, back in the Stack! :Rasta:

I moved 5 cuttings from my current grow into solo cups today. I don't expect that they'll all continue to grow. A few may get tossed. But whichever ones look like they'll grow decently will be saved and their growth documented here.

The primary reason for doing clones now is to try and continue growing one of my fav strains, Cosmic Lights. The mom of the 3 cuts I've got in solos had a rough start and she's now about to be planted outdoors at a remote location. If you're unfamiliar with her and her issues, you can start reading about them HERE.

I'm zooted and I'm prone to get too wordy when that happens. Let me quickly move on...

Four Cosmic Lights cuts in the GDBCloner®:

(Many narrow-minded folks have suggested that my cloner is a mere cereal container. But open-minded folks like you see it for what it is! :) )

Three with at least one root visible and one with nada:

I planted the 3 in solos and tossed the rootless one. Along for the ride are a cut of Hash Lover and one of a Fat Kid's Cake.

I watered them all in with General Hydroponics MaxiGro @ 2ml per gallon. That's just to get them started. I've made no decisions about final pot sizes, final mediums or what they will be fed throughout the remainder of each of their lives.

More to come after I make some "plans." :)

If you're seeing this post then I'm really, really sending you thanks for your interest!

I don’t think I have ever gotten on a GDB ride from the beginning before medium was even decided. Whoo f-ing hoo! I’m in! This ought to be cool. Teach me something GDB!!! Haha.

Thanks for making it Jon. The more eyes the better is what I've learned here! :Rasta:

Finally got the word something was happening over here ,Great looking harvest GDB and them cookies sounds GOOD ! In for the ride with the clones good jog there too ! :high-five::theband:
Thanks Smoke! You know we can always kick it! :Rasta:

I had one last cut remaining in the GDBCloner®. It's the top from the second FKC (I'm trying grow both tops).

She finally put out a few roots.

She was put in a solo today and has joined the others, which have already been in solo cups for 3 days.

CL = Cosmic Lights, FKC= Fat Kid's Cake, HL= Hash Lover

The Hash Lover cut is probably not going to survive. But that's entirely my fault, as I neglected her for too long prior to putting her in soil.

She's making paired nodes like a seed.

Yep! That's the reason I like cloning the tops of plants. You get symmetrical growth just like from seed! :Rasta:

Hello gang.

The clones (most of them) have been in the solo cups for 7 days. As predicted, the Hash Lover cut didn't make it. I moved her to the center for no particular reason. I'll toss her today.

NT clone 5-22-24 D7 in solos.jpg

That Fat Kid's Cake in the front may be the most explosive clone I've ever had! She's outpacing all the others in root production and just "looks" like she wants to be something special!

FKC1 clone 5-22-24 D7 exploding.jpg

The other FKC cut to her right has a few hairs on top. She may need to reveg.

The three Cosmic Lights cuts are doing well. The one rear-right is nearly matching the root production of the FKC but the plant itself is nowhere near as beefy as the FKC.

That's all I wanted to show you today.

Thanks for stopping by.
