Lunar Gardening Community Journal: Improve Your Crops Using Simple Tricks

Years ago, Cloudblood had already posted a long explanation about the lunar cycles, so I'll leave a link for anyone who wants something more than my tl;dr

The basics:
Moon possition relative to earth affects how high or low water will be pulled over and out on plants. During a new moon the moon is at its farthest possition, having a low gravitational pull, while the new moon, being the closest to earth, will pull water close to it. This will generate a cycle where plant development will go seed/root -> stems/leaves -> flowers/fruits -> resting (pruning/harvesting). There are also signs under which certain plants do better than others, but that gets a little more technichal than what it's needed for cannabis.

One important point is that during new moon, seeds will absorb water more easily than during other phases, so it's always good to germinate around 48 hours before full moon, otherwise you will be giving away precious days and your plant won't live up to its full potential.

I want to invite the community to participate in this thread, test the lunar cycle with me and see the results. I will be posting when the next cycle starts and everything you need to know to get going.

¿What's my personal framework?

Germinate seed 48h before full moon
Once seed germinates it goes straight to the pot
Start giving nutes 2 weeks after germination
Train as needed
Trim before new moon
Harvest before new moon
Water cure until buds get saturated and sink (a month or less)
Yeet myself into oblivion as I toke my precious nuggets.

With that said, if you're already growing, use this week to prune and train. Water absorption will be lower as this is a resting phase.
If you're planning to plant, wait until february 6-7 to germinate.

Ok, so this week is a resting week, so its a great time for pruning.

I use the calendar from rhythm of nature ( Lunar calendar gardener and farmer 2020 ) but another great source is lunarium.co, just make sure you are selecting your geographical location pr nearest location.

I used the time to water, prune and train my bagseed plant. All my budget went towards a new light, so sacrifices were made. Here is the before and after.

While training I realized i almost severed the main cola with the gardening wire. Sadly even this wore is like occult knowledge to hardware stores and pipe cleaners are unknown here. Thankfully it has until thursday to heal the wound, but i wish i had caught it earlier.

For now I will pretend i super cropped it while waiting for next friday and the growth sprout. I am also removing most fan leaves, as i wont be able to prune at least until valentines day

Very nice info. Thank you

Plants are adjusting nicely, getting ready to grow a few cm this weekend.

I really enjoy being able to watch how the plant is developing. I hope to get a good few shots of it growing in the next day.

The cut is also healing nicely. Both photos are 24h apart.

I don't think anyone's reading this, but someone eventually will. I messed up the nutes, had to leave town for the weekend and my plants died. I was pissed but I was able to turn them into a delicious chocolate dessert I made for a friends birthday.

Anyway, Brief photo story:

I wanted them to be germinated on feb 7, but it was done on the 9.

(if first photo isn't allowed I'll delete it)

Day 18: The small one got me specially worried, as it took way longer to sprout after germination.

I was actually thinking of you today !

The next full moon will occur on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 10:35PM ET, and is known as the Full Pink Moon.

Namaste :)

Thank you! I just got my seeds and substrate (my local guy is the best, shipped to my door no cost, next day). Now I need another airpot and some gardening wire. I live a block away from the hardware stores but the city is quarantined so I have to stay here.

Anyway, I got some Auto Mazar in water and took some nice photos of my babies.

Hello everyone! I'm currently having an issue with the heat (auttum, but my space reached 35 degrees) as you can see on my left plant. City is still on lockdown, so buying a bigger fan than the one I have has proved tricky.

Expect growth around wednesday. I expect to finish water curing before the 22, hopefully tomorrow. Will post results.

Good monday everyone! An exciting week is approaching, so I trimmed the plant and upped the nutrients (I was counting my tap water PPM, so I was always short on nutes!) Thankfully that's all fixed now.

Before and after of the girls.

The water curing is finished and all I have to do now is wait for it to mature on the jars. Lost a ton of flower weight, but the concentration is way higher and the smoke truly silky smooth.

Hello everyone! I hope your garden is going great. New moon is coming next week, so get ready anything you want to harvest .

Day 23: In the meantime, the current tenants are doing great, altough the small one keeps drinking and drinking water and nutes but I don't see the growth. If it's the roots what's developing, I hope to see an explossive growth soon.

If you notice, I leave the stubbs of the fan leaves to use them as stopgaps for my LST while rest of the branch develops.

Day 26: After fixing the defoliation and applying honey to the cuts, I arranged the sprouts, giving massive gains.

I'm pretty excited about this and hope to leave evidence for future generations. See you in the next update!
