Schnookie's First Grow In 30 Years: Mixed Strains, Mixed Schedule, Mixed Nutrients

Harvest continues... 22g skunk bud. You can see that it spent much of it's life on its side...

Seems like maturity on this bud is less than last one...didn't get much direct light - was lower in the canopy than others. Trichs are at mostly clear still with only a few amber.

And just picked off 3 more little buds from skunk to start clearing her all up...There are 2 or 3 big colas left in the back where I can't really reach right now under some big WW buds so gonna wait longer to get those done. Will probably take everything left on her this weekend for final harvest. Total weight 18g trimmed.

Two more GSC colas today...27g and 31g partially trimmed; I got rid of only the fan/water leaves an the sugar leaves remain but there's not a lot of them...or that big. I've noticed in drying that the buds are not really keeping their aroma and smelling much like grass or hay. Saw somewhere that maybe they're not dry enough or to dry with some leaves on, so will attempt both.

Well my 3 GSC buds from earlier this week dried down pretty good to a total of 24g with some stem removed so I put into the cob. OF course, I used the foodsaver vacuum sealer to get one side of the bag double sealed and then added the squished and rolled budsickle to it...then the sealer stopped working! I just bought this last month unfortunately, but tried to get ama.z.on support to help (useless) so I just initiated an RMA to get it replaced. SO, I ended up rolling the bag up (it did remove some air, but didn't seal, but the sticky buds kept it closed and tight) and wrapping it tight with rubber bands and stuck it in the pot with the sous vide anyway so I didn't have to wait for the replacement device.

Seems like these girls just don't wanna quit...maybe harvesting over time is stretching their growth potential?

Wanted to take the rest of skunk today, but I'm too lazy...probably the major buds left will come tomorrow, but since the 3 are all kind of entangled, I won't be able to get all of her out without taking some GSC and WW along the way since they are obstructing...

They also each got about a gallon of nutes and water today (6g MC/G + 1/4 tsp Beastie Bloom which I've been using for boost the last month). Skunk a few pints less than the other too since she's almost done and doesn't need it. They went 3 days without anything...I can't even tell the difference anymore when they are low on water.

Skunk on the right, GSC up front (and falling to her right also) and WW in the back (although she's flopping all over the place now!).

Then I added a couple more bamboo sticks to hold the GSC girls inside the tent and moved one of the branches that was woven through the screen...and flopped it into the middle in more light. Gonna keep the CFLs off now and let things go, maybe lower the lights another inch or two but that's probably not really necessary. Without those, there's still around 400W of light between the 250W HPS and MarsHydro TS600 beaming down (in a 32"x32" tent) which is probably plenty.

Took a lower branch from skunk that had one of the first colas removed and it still weighs 13g after some trim (with stem)... will probably dry down to less than an 1/8 without the stem. Plus I've got at least 10-12 of these still to cut from her...

....... I've learned some amazing information in the last few months while dabbling and experimenting. I've also been scared and paranoid so I'm being stealthy and deceptive and trying to be as careful as possible. I'll start posting more details and photos soon, the first month-ish was almost complete stealth with no pics, but I started being a little less freaked out after and have some great shots.

Stay tuned, sleepytime fo' me.

Hey there schnookie - I’m only sayin’ ‘high’ because I can relate. I actually work in a profession that’s made me more risk conscious than I’d be normally. A little crazy-making. But that’s come in handy with this adventure I suppose.

I’ve been learning around the threads all over this community in stealth mode for a few years - heeheeheee . No person in real life knows the extent of my gardening. I take few and post no pics. So..... I’m Still in stealth mode but less paranoid about LEOs, for sure. When I started I acted like they had near X-ray vision or something. I’m more chill now.

I’m years into this experimenting with the ol’ tomato plants. I do grow those too, so not entirely untrue. :). Also, cilantro and lettuce going as companions.

Looks like an interesting thread here and I’ll be reading through— looks good so far back on page 1. Thanks for sharing, looks like some cool ideas I can learn from. I’ll be lurking....

Last 3 colas harvested from skunk today. Realized also that the last one I cut was the main cola. She was on her side under white widow tops most of her life but still can tell that the largest branch (primary trunk I guess) provided the most nutrients as she came in at 44g tightly trimmed wet. Other two were 14g and 25g.

The big one @44g

accidentally trimmed a little bud off the bottom...:(

And what's this? nanners?? Anyone know if extended bloom beyond standard times will cause this? Seems like the only bud that had them... Well it would appear they didn't open and no seeds, but we'll see if I find anything when I go to taste these later...self-seeds would be a plus!

And the rest of the bottom of the plant is gonna get some more direct light now and finish out this week...will be getting her cut down by friday for sure and this batch of soil renewed. No more top colas unless there is someone hiding under the WW on the left, but I doubt it. Bud at the bottom and also left of photo is another GSC to be removed soon.

I'm guessing there may be another 80-100g of wet trimmed bud remaining to be removed. I'll add things up once she's all done but I'm pretty happy with the results I got on this first grow. :)

Looks like another bud herm'd some with a few males...how long does it typically take for the pollen to appear? I might let this one mature (I'll bag it something) and make some pollen for breeding...

And also got a really nice WW cola...this is so dense...and there are several more like this too! 40g wet trimmed...gonna be awesome! Lots of amber tips on the trichs and almost half cloudy so probably need to take down a few more since they are ready (and not really early anymore)...We just passed 12 weeks flowering!

And WW is now topless (from the main cola anyway ;);))!! What a beast...this cola is as big as my forearm+hand! Will trim some and weigh it later, but last picture is comparison with the trimmed 40g bud, so guessing this stack should be well over 100g!
