I looked at coco, but did not know much about it...


I'm going to get an auto-flowering strain or two, today.
I'm looking at the Joint Doctor and Dinafem seed companies products.

Any recommendations on these two companies products?
If you do, post ASAP, please !

(I'm leaning towards diesel ryder from JD and critical+ from dinafem)
The only reason I may get a pack of dinafem auto's is because I get 2 free blue widow seeds with it, otherwise just one pack of Joint Doctor Brand Autoflowerers!

too be honest this is my first attempt i dont know them seed companys as im from uk its all good going for a strain just because you get free seeds but you've got to ask yourself do i need them and are they feminized. if the answer is no then the seeds could well be male and you dont want them and also in noticed you not got much space so look towards the indica side try looking at rhino seeds they do the same thing buy 1 get 2 free thing hope this helps.

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter!

I ended up going with the Diesel Ryder by Joint Doctor and "5 Fruit Automatic" or Fruit by Dinafem, and got 2 free Fem. Blue Widow seeds for free.

I am going to pop 2 of the Diesel Ryder and have them finish with the other two. I hope.

Here are pictures from the 23, 25th and 27th.
A few changes in the box - I added the carbon filter and it makes all the difference in the world.
I also added the other 2 32 watt bulbs.
There are 2 Diesel Ryder seedlings joining VK2 and SLH2 - they will be grown at 12/12 while the other two flower.
I will be switching to 12/12 soon, so they finish around the same time (christmas hopefully)

The oscillating fan in the pictures is hanging and nearly rotates 360 degrees.

Thanks for all the compliments. & Happy Halloween!

Bubbled 4 Litres(1gallon) of water with 5 ml each of GO BioThrive Grow, BioRoot, CaMg+, and a shot of the squid! (BioMarine)
The SLH2 and VK2 were watered yesterday with 2 Litres each - there was no runoff. There was a nice sound of freshly watered soil for a couple of minutes. You know the sound...

Here are some pictures from the 29th and today(31st)

You can see I've bent some fan leaves around to get more light to the secondary growth sites.
Today is the last 18 hours of light they get.
Tomorrow is the first 12 hour dark period. I hope to finish around New Years.

They are both wider than they are tall.
Node spacing is less than an inch on both.
VK2 is 9" tall and SLH 2 is 11" tall.
I hope the big leaves are a sign of BIG BUDS!

I decided to mess with their lighting schedule. I did this to decrease the chance of having daytime light leak into my box(which can cause stress and hermies, apparently)
During the vegetative period, I had them on a 18/6 light schedule that started with lights on at 4pm and ended at 10am the next day.
I did that to deal with the heat (I don't know if it helped or not) and cheaper hydro rates. In flower, this would have made the dark period during the daytime.

I've flipped them to 12/12 that starts at 9am and ends at 9pm. My girls were in the dark for 24 hours.
I hope I didn't bugger them up too much!

Not at all. Putting them in the dark before flower is supposed to help kickstart the hormones that take place for flowering. Mine are in the 2nd day of flower after I put them in the dark for 36 hours. I also use the 9am-9pm schedule. Seems to give me the most available time to work with them.

Looking good. I've also read that anytime you need to change the light sched. at all go with an increased dark period until you get to the new lights on time, less if any shock to them.

It's getting harder to get good shots of the plants. I wish I ordered the emerg. blankets sooner. The bottom of the plants and the sides closest to the edges of the box are not getting as much light now.

The emergency blankets came in. I only used one out of three.
I am going to redo it once the plants are out. I made a mess because I didn't have much room to work.
It does the trick though!
