How to choose LED light?

hello everybody
first of all let me apologize for my english...

its already my 6th time im growing in a tent.
till now i used T5 to veg stage and 400 HPS for flowering.

a friend had a some chinese led light (didnt find any brand name on it) and i tried it.
the plants seemd to look more like a bush with lots of branches and almost without steching.

thought to buy a "known" grow light but there are so many out there!
since i know that the led light that i took from my friend wasnt anywhere close to be proffesional but yet it showed some improvement on my plants. (only one function led - no veg/flower button, used it for full cycle)

i read like thousands of threads or led grow lights reviews - im no specialist so it makes it so hard to choose!
i want a grow light with full spectrum and hopefully not so expensive...

there are some that got better reviewes and you can find them on some comparisons sites when u look for reviewes.

but i also read about DIY led kits but how do u know which led is the best (or atleast best for low budget)??
the are double chip leds, 3W-10W leds, COBs...

i dont know if its ok to mention barnd names here - id love if anyone can help and explain or recommend

i got a 2*4 tent so i guess i wont have to use more than 600W led ( i know its not the real wattage and its only to say how much HPS its replacing)

hope i explained myself good enough...

tnx for the help

Click on the Sponsors tab, quite a few of all different price ranges there, they kind of frown on "plugging" products from non-sponsors here but that is totally understandable. Lots of threads with folks using specific lights from Sponsors here, granted all the info can boggle the mind for sure. Wish I had found this place before I got myself up and running as would have been a lot less "wandering aimlessly" ;) I went with what I could find info on online for recommended for growing Cannabis (you can kinda get a gut feeling when someone used a product or if they work for the company or getting paid to do "fake reviews or biased reviews"), these Forums have lots of threads with specific products listed and comes with pictures too, so like I said wish I had found this place prior to my first grow this summer.

how to choose led light????

Yea best off having a look in threads or discussions I done a lot of research what you want to look for is the true wattage not the actall wattage of the led it's measured by p.a.r I went for Mars hydro II 900w good quality very good price good par quality id recomend takin a look at Mars all depends on your budget really as there are many great led makers now days also a lot of videos on you tube that helped me pick as I was going to go for a basic cheap Chinese unbranded one , such as King led then found comparison vids on you tube and helps clear up a lot about them hope you find the ones that suit you they are really good on electricity and heat wise produse maybe 1/4 the heat of hps

im getting more confused everytime i read a new article...

the one's that cought my attention were:
VIPARSPECTRA 450W
GALAXY HYDRO 300W
KING PLUS LED 800W

since i dont live in the US shipping and taxes raise the price too much so i cant afford more than a 250$ lamp
are there any better recomendations?

the VIPARSPECTRA looks like the more serious one of the list above but with all the numbers and calculations about par, wattage and i dont know what - its hard to know whats the right choice

Well King led is king plus led very bad test results and reviews I was also looking at Galaxy but Mars hydro seemed a lot superior imo has decent par and actual watage I'm also not from the us but got. Deliverd in under a week what space have you got in your tent as you can use that to help you choose as different power have different coverage so a 300w may be to small coverage wise or might be perfect depending on space

I also had the same question about what led to choose would a 300w mars be enough for 2 plants? Also is that the actual wattage? Would a 300w led be much more then a 250w hps (bay6 is what im currently using) to run?

Maybe for two plants as not big you could probably get away with a few under their just not as much penetration as a higher wattage one as the 300 was what I was looking to get at first and decided on the 900 then ended up getting x2 900 as par is perfect for 3.5ft squared or maybe even 4.5ftsq I'll check for you

heard about BLACK DIAMOND lights but unfortunately they are far from my budget

im looking for something around 250$
the viparspcetra 450 looks realy good for 139$.

my tent measures im cm :120X60X170
with the 400W HPS i grew 3 plants and got around 80 grams per plant

Your tent is fairly small
I think 2 300s would cover it completely with good amount of par personally I'd go a bit higher on Amazon they do packs of two 300w 400w 600 up to 1600. For two 300 or 400 watt ones only looking about £250 for two lights I got x2 900 for £530 I'll find the link for you if you like just trying to pass a bit of saving money on its a hard choice picking I was in same position a while back hope this helps a bit

i realy appreciate your help
i know its a small tent so i figured i wont need more than one lamp. thats why the viparspectra 450 interested me. i know its chinese but something "smells" better with this brand.
maybe for the next grow i'll get a bigger tent and invest in more serious lamp.

for now i'll have to settle for small tent and cheaper light :)
im not going to throw my hps - i will use it with the led i'll get so i guess it will cover enough space.
