2nd DWC/Deep Water Culture Grow: GDP and OG Kush

Long time no talk guys!! Just been taking a break enjoying my last harvest.. I still have a little over a half OZ left out of 5(gave some away), It was some pretty killer smoke I must say.

For those who didnt catch the last grow, GDP DWC/Deep Water Culture Grow


This grow I am only doing 2 plants, See if I cant get them a little bushier and taller than the last ones. 4 was to much for the 150w hps, 2 plants crowded the other 2 so much they didnt produce but maybe a 1/4-1/2 oz each dry. But the bigger 2 produced 1.5+ oz each dry, So I hope to get atleast that this time from each of the 2.

10 gallon tote.
150w hps during veg and then will be adding a 70w hps for side lighting during flower.
2- 12" Bubble Bars
2- small fans. 1 wall fan and 1 fan down low.
Advanced Nutrients line up(micro, grow, and Bloom)
Purple maxx, Bud candy, Bud blaster, and Gravity for additives during flower.

Good luck with the new bubble grow!! What is the temp in your growroom, they look as if they might be a little heat stressed.

Thanks. Temps are about 79*. Thats how they were when I got them, I just got them about an hour before I took those pics. They should perk up in a day or 2..

I see, didn't realize they were clones! They are definitely going to love the space, four was way too crowded for me too.

Ya i guess I should have mentioned that in that in the first post ha. I hope they do love the space, 4 was WAY to bushy for that 150w..

Weekly update: I usually do it every 7 days But i will be out of town tomrrow..

Plants are looking good and taking off, The Og kush grew about 5 inches. And both plants already have roots in the water. Gotta love Deep Water Culture.. PPM has been about 950 and PH is 5.6-5.7.

I topped the plants as well, Took about 5 inches off the OG so it doesnt tower the GDP, and I FIMMED the GDP.

Root porn: There was 5 or 6 roots coming out the rockwool cube of each plant 6 days ago, Now they are raging out the side of net pots..

It should be around 50-65% shouldnt it? It stays around 40% during the day. The lowest is 31% and the highest is 50%... Ive been spraying them 2-3 times a day, Didn't know if that was to much or just right? I am going to add a bowl of water and see if that helps enough..

I noticed these girls are growing much faster than the last grow, Roots too. The roots are laying n the bottom of the tub already and today is only day 9, Last grow roots didnt hit the water until day 16 let alone laying on the bottom of the tub. Only difference this grow is I am using Advanced nutrients Grow, bloom, and micro instead of Fox farms line up. And I didnt mist the plants last time during veg..

I use strafoam cups of water sitting around he tank, and wet rags rolled up like a cigar laying on the lid and it helps increase humidity.

Weekly update, Today is Day 14 week 2 of VEG. I topped last week and they have taken off, Especially the OG kush. It grew around 9" in a week..

Im thinkin i may have to top the OG kush again for a couple reasons,

1. I dont want it to tower the GDP to much and cover it up,

2. I dont plan on flowering for atleast another week or 2 to get the GDP taller, But in another week or 2 that OG will be huge and to tall for my closet once I flower them I think.. I have about 36" for plant height with enough room for my light above them.. GDP is 8" and OG kush is 14" right now..

What do you guys think I should do??

Little update, Temps are looking good and the humidity is starting to climb up to a decent range now. I only have 1 of my fans on low right now.

I decided to top the OG kush Sunday, and it is doing well now. It is back to the height it was when i topped it sunday. Depending how tall they are this Saturday(3 weeks VEG) i may start flower then. The GDP is 9-10" and the OG kush is 14-15" right now.

Ph is at 5.6 and PPM is 1120.

Weekly update: I decided to put the plants into flower 2 days ago. Th OG kush was growing so fast, It was already 18" and the GDP was 12". I only have about 38" of room to work with, and have room for my light above. The OG should be atleast 30+ inches so I decided to flower. I added the 70w HPS and 2 23w CFLs for side lighting..

The advanced Nutrients seem to be better than fox farm. My roots stay bright white and the plants love it. Last grow with fox farm, my GDP took 4 weeks to get 11-12", It took this GDP only 2.5 weeks to get 12".. And I have only had to touch the PH 3 or 4 times the whole time.

I plan on flowerin about 9 weeks, that was a good time frame for my GDP last time. But how long do you guys flower your OG kush??
