Batfongrips 1st grow poor man CFLs

yea thats true I relized that my plants closer to the small fan have their top level of soiled dried out quick so I rotate them. I dont know I will wait and not get too exited and over -anything them.
 
Ok so I hope someone can answer this, I know its kind of a noob question I have looked around and from the information I have gathered, I am going to transplant the baby clones into 1 gallon pots from the l ittle 16 oz plastic cups I put them in orignally.

I looked at one of the drain holes an I saw a root, I dont know how long these 16 oz cups were intended to last so I thought these clones would like more space to let there roots grow :) any thoughts

and one more thing I am tryin to post a pic of the problem but I can't find my wire to transfer them from the device. The plants have a couple darkish yellow tips and look all dried out and stuff I am leaving them on there till they want to fall off I suppose, I think they were like that when I got them but for some reason I cannot recall.
 
if the roots are growing out of the cup, its definitely time to transplant. I would recommend putting them in 5 gallon bucket rather than a 1 gallon because they will run out of space pretty quickly in the 1 gallon container depending on how big you grow them.
 
yea the close is roughly 2x2x8 so as long as they dont bush out of control there heh.
Thanks for the advice ill run to potting store and probly transplant them today or tomorrow into maybe 3 galls. I dont know how fast the plants will grow when they relize all the room they got and all but thanks alot for the tip! its very exiting watching them grow
 
Ok I am afraid I think I figured out why the tips of a couple of my leaves are turning brown / yellow and look dead. It may be becuase there is not enough air circulation through the soil and I may have shocked them with all the nitrogen I gave them (teaspoon of Like Karma + 1/2 strength FFGrow Big) They were looking very dry and the dirt was so dry i dug a couple inches down and it was just powdery chunks of dirt and perlite. I thought the problem was N deficiancy but the rest of the plant looks healthy and intact except the couple leaves with browning yellowing tips.

I feel I should transplant them asap with more air circulation! I dont want to kill my babies they are already smelling so delicous. I just watered them this morning though should I wait a day or so before transplanting? any thought/ ideas appreciated!
 
I have another question I am wanting to try out, I want to give my girls some Co2 I was going to go for the bike tire pump + co2 cartriges, but I can pick this up at my K-Mart

Ok I topped my plants according to the FIM technique and I made my girls bleed a little =*( but I trust it I have seen many amazing results using this method. I also started training them with a string wrapped around the middle or bottom mid just under the growth of new stems and levels. I got about 5 levels of nodes that looked like it was weighing down the plant a little for how small it is roughly 8-9 inches so far. I think i left 10% on each stem maybe a tiny bit more, I hope that doesnt effect it too much.

I will put them in new homes tomarrow 2, 9 inch pots and maybe a 12 inch pot or 11, im not sure yet. Anyways thats it for now if anyone is reading this and notice im doing anything wrong then let me know because this is my first grow.
 
Ok so I have just wired up my CMH/HPS ballast and fired it up and worked beautifully I was so proud of myself I left it on for a couple minutes and now im seeing spots. It smelled like a little hot I think that coulda been because it hasn't been used in almost a year.

I WILL GET PICS UP HERE VERY SOON. I am getting a camera from a friend and will start taking many pics and all. I topped the plants yesterday evening and they are already showing some signs of new potential growth. I will wait a few days before putting the CMH light in there. It looks very bright I heard that CMH carries red and blue light spectrums so I will add that in a few days I think. I plan on vegging these out a couple more weeks I think then switching my 6 CFL 6500k lights to 2700K CFL 43 watts and I got a 400Watt HPS bulb I will replace the CMH bulb with.

I want to hang the 400Watt CMH over the plants and maybe have my 6 CFL 6500k spectrum bulbs hanging around towards the middle of the plant. Any thoughts or objections?
 
I got 3 and they are 1 of 3 strains, my friend cloned them and alot died but those ones were the chosen few I guess, (being optimistic) they are all G-13 just with a different hybrid strain in a couple.
But either way they will be delicious.
I can see a tiny tiny bit of growth its about 28 hours after the topping and I am happy I did it then and got it over with.

I had a long day at work and then when i got home just now they were willting kind of alot and the cups were super dried and felt light so i watered them (3 stores were SOLD OUT of distilled water lol) So i watered them the lights will go off in about an hour or less. I hope they start to look happy tomorrow, I want to add the bigger light right when I transplant them or within 3 days, whicher comes first I would like to transplant about when the girls need there nutes/water. Anyways sorry I didn't plan on writing this much heh I am going to pick up the phone from my buddy tomorrow and start taking pics. Starting to get exiting, but sadly I plan on veggin 2 more weeks unless they get some super growth goin on. I am going to mix FFOcean Soil mix with a tiny bit of "No Fert Soil" with some perlite to help circulate for feeding and easy texture for roots to grow everywhere, unless I change my mind when i purchase the bags soon..

The water will definitely help, try not to let it get to that point again though. I try to water right before my plants start to wilt ;)
Why put in "No Fert Soil"? FFOF is amazing and all it needs is perlite added in. I'd go with 20% perlite, but you can use what feels right for you.

Yea I am looking forward to the FFOF. I would mix it just becacuse I got half a bag of it and don't want to waste it lol. It has some perlite in it thats the main reason as well why I would try to mix it. hah im cheap with high ideas I guess maybe it works I will try that 20% mixture sounds nice, I also will put some rocks I collected at the bottom of each pot so they can drain easier.

The plants look a bit healthier too and I am seeing new growth really coming along (still small but in my eyes of staring at it) and I will have pictures later I will go over to my friends house later to pick it up but it may be till tomorrow for the pics because he just purchased some insane bong 500$ + so I am going to be testing that out. I picked up some Purple Kush and Northern Lights mmmmm :roorrip:
 
Does anyone have any suggestions or objecctions to me putting up and firing up the CMH (Ceramic Metal Halide) light about 18 inches maybe 12 inches above the clones. I will get pictures soon, my friend is not home. They are all about 9 inches tall, really starting to get bushy and have been veggin for almsot 2 weeks now. I topped them on the 1st I dont know if putting the CMH would add stress or if the UV would acturally help them. One of them are acturally showing a couple of pistols or two hair looking things coming out near the top, is that a pre-flower sign?
 
Last night I tried out the CMH because of all the good stuff I have heard about them. I put it in there and I dont know why its running sooo hot, it made the whole grow room over 100 from like 72. it gets like 80 on hot days here sometimes like 83. anyways after an hour or so I checked on them and one was like melting almost, like the stems got super weak and all. I turned the light off asap and put the CFLs above them again and they got a little happier but still look exausted from the heat. 2 of 3 are looking happy once again.

The odd ball, the same one with a a bunch of white hairs starting to grow from the main stem and isnt so bushy ( i think she is a different strain of the G-13) so what this plant is doing is it looks like the leaves are coming together mostly toward the top, and they are folding. I still cannot get the camera im sorry if this sounds like anything someone knows about please help. I also transplanted them into FFOF and added some Grow Big and Big Bloom in the mix and i hope they start to really fill out in there. anyways any help is greatly appreiciated!!
 
Sounds like your doing an awesome job. I wonder if the odd plant is actualy an auto flowering type. Either way it is definitely sexualy mature & ready to flower whenever you are. About the light you definitely need proper ventilation.
 
Yea they are starting to really flourish now :) been finding new bud spots all over them they are getting into puberty!! that big bloom and FFOF and Grow Big is really making them nice :popcorn: I still am trying to get a hold of my friend sometimes hard to get a hold of him but anyways they are about the same height but just bushing out I am hopin they will grow a few more inches tall in a week or 2. so i can flower them to fit my room perfect. I have those CFL lights right on them and they are loving it absorbing the light wellonly 13 watt so i can put them a little closer than say a 43 watter cfl.. I am not sure when they will be ready for the CMH and when flowering starts with the HPS anyways thats it for now, i am hoping to get some pics of my girls they are much mroe attractive than my walls of text.

Well its been 5 days since the transplant and im really sorry its been a pain to get a hold of my friend for the camera, they are really starting to bush out every day im seeing new bud sights. That Fox Farms soil and Big Bloom and Grow Big look like they are really taking care of my girls!! Everythings nice and green and getting strong, main stems are fattening up I want to top it again soon as well 1 more time before flowering just to get a crazy lookin plant and play around with it.

A question... I accidently pulled a hair looking thing out of the weird plant that is growing the most of those, when i tried to pull a stupid cat hair from there. is there going to screw up alot?!? please any advice on that i can still smell the plant fluid on my fingers
