Best lights

hey all!! so i turned out 2 pretty good (small) crops with cfl's 23 in total 100 watts/2700k/5000k,looking to upgrade to a better lights,so my question is what grow lights would be good for me with low heat and without out breaking the bank,6x6 room max 5 plants

23 cfl x 100 W, well that is like 2300 watts of electric assuming that it is a 100 w per bulb ? in less they are 5 w each etc...

6 x 6 guessing that is 6 feet by 6 feet.


More likely 5 W ah what sort of yield did ya get out of interest ?


Best type of light, well i'm still old fashion & prefer HPS with a room that size a single 1000 w hps would work out but if using the space to it's full potential... as it is only 5 plants 600 w or 400 w hps would do the trick.

If heat is a problem ya looking at an air cooled hood/reflector set up but are few different ways to do this but not sure on ya breaking the bank allowance.


Otherwise a led panel might be of interest i don't have any experience with those i'm afraid some one else may chime in tho...




If both off those appear costly then it is larger wattage cfl.

If heat is an issue then ya need to look at better ventilation extraction/exhaust etc
