Can I use lemon juice to lower the pH of my water?

When you use lemon juice to reduce pH, the beneficial bacteria that are transforming ammonia/ammonium to nitrite and then to nitrate are inhibited. Lemon Juice to Reduce pH Harms bacteria. Damage to the bacterial layer can result in a number of problems. For gardening I use soil acidifier to lower ph.

Before the days of internet, I used lemon juice and baking soda, to ph my water. I never had issues. However, nowadays, I'd only use it if I absolutely had no other alternative. PH up and down, is easy to get and an inexpensive investment for your grow.

I use baking soda to raise ph in my water, i never get any signs there having problems but its very little amounts i use, i used pickled onion juice before i bought ph down, the same not signs of problems, but you can buy a ph up and down kit for pennies.
