Does anyone else get sick?

Hello all :).

So I'm currently under going a long term illness of nearly 9 years and counting and still no doctor or specialist has no idea what's going on with me, one day I woke up and started being sick, then a month later it was all day everyday and has been the same since, in had the camera down and they ended up harming the the skin in my throat making me even more prone to gag, so imagine going from being sick 1-2 times a day to upwards of 50, not being able to go out or even involve my self with people, this then overtime causing me to get serious depression and anxiety, I have my good days, my bad days and if noticed my whole personality change at least 5 times which sometimes generally gets to me that much I end up over thinking things and at times I put my self in some real bad places, but as I write this now I feel a tad better that people can then understand that everyone's condition. Is different as well as really unusual.

So do people get physically sick from smoking, not the sickness you would get from the psychoactive side of cannabis but just from actually smoking, I mean I don't grow the strongest weed in the world where would make me physically incompetent to be motivational but I'm genuinely thinking of running 8 week strains upwards of 11+ weeks so the affects just completely wipe me out and therefore if I'm asleep in then not being sick giving my body a break.

So I smoke 3-6 0.5-2g joints per day (only bud no tobacco) but lately I've been smoking to the point where it's not taking away the pain and just in general the bud is actually making me worse, I've even questioned is it something I'm doing wrong when I'm growing but I'm growing 90% organically now with only Plagron Green Sensation as it's a 4 in 1, even tried different drying techniques.

So does your body ever react in a bad way or is it just me?

I watched a podcast with Wiz Khalifa last night and he was saying he can get physically sick of he doesn't smoke his own strain daily and he has no illnesses that are known publicly that we know of and people have stated it's not addictive but after a while your body physically needs it on a day to day, I'm pretty sure I never got sick when I smoked Northern Lights but I simply can't quite remember.

I'm currently on a break from smoking and have been for around a month now, unfortunately I'm now back on tablets or as I like to call compressed chalk as they never seem to work.

Any info or life stories of similar is love to hear from you.

Stay happy and healthy everyone, or at least try!

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome is a real thing, it causes nausea and vomiting from chronic cannabis use...you may already have read this, but you can learn more about it here:
Is the nausea any better now that you're taking a break from smoking?

To answer your thread question-I don't get sick, but in the first 10 to 15 minutes after smoking
I experience very high anxiety, which is why I quit smoking 20 years ago-I decided to try it again
recently, and it still does that to me,but I've learned through persistent "testing" that once the initial "rush" passes, the high transforms into a very pleasant, relaxing experience.
Doesn't matter what strain,or whether it's sativa or indica-it still does it to me,but I've learned to ride it out.
It does last a little longer with heavy sativa strains, which is why I now grow straight (or close to it) indicas.

Like you HTH I'm fighting a long-term neurological disease that has the docs stumped too. It may help to understand that about 1/5 of such diseases are not diagnosed. This alone causes much stress, one never knows what's coming. I don't start using cannabis until late afternoon/early evening, trying to minimize my cannabis tolerance as best I can while the daytime provides more distraction. I grow a lot so there are no constraints on the amount I use, so I experiment with strains and methods of administration.

I'm sorry to hear buddy, I know it's an absolute nightmare but it's the whole what can we do situation.

I know what you mean about the tolerance levels, I'm setting up another company from September and it's going to be so hard to get motivational as I start my day off at around 9am (it does sound late but I never sleep till around 3am) then I spend another good 2-3h being sick so by that time it's half way through the day, I can't smoke or consume as I will be using engineering equipment, then I have a guy that will be working for me from 6pm most days till 10pm so this then gives me a tiny amount of time to medicate, I feel I'm never going to get off tablets, unless I hire someone else too but then it's more money.

I'm the most happy and content person when I can switch off all my socials, stick Netflix on and smoke away, I'm almost emotional sometimes watching series and seasons of programmes but unfortunately this won't give me the funding to survive :(.

My ideal job would be to work with cannabis I mean I wouldn't even class it as work but until then I'm saving every thing I make to hopefully one day setup a small legal grow and be able to help others suffering.

so are you feeling sick after you smoke ? or feeling sick if you don't smoke ?

3 - 6 joints a day between .5 to 2 grams is quite a range from lower to upper consumption, maybe not a huge amount by medical standards, but 6 grams at the upper end encroaches on chronic. my main concern would be the that you are dosing all over the map and not following a treatment plan. my own experience has been a tapering off of actual consumption after implementing a medical consumption plan.

my first reaction is to suggest canna pills. they might be your magic bullet.

they are an amazing way to dose without going overboard, and provide far more than smoking can if you are looking to treat a medical issue. canna pills are slow release, and are easy to regulate, especially if you use both a thc dominant pill in tandem with a cbd dominant pill.

i was having serious issues with dosing until i stumbled on the pills.

I'm a little confused too, if your getting sick from smoking or just in general?

I had a problem in my early 20s before I really started using cannabis where I could not keep anything I ate down. After a lot of testing they couldn't figure it out and just called it IBS. They sent me to a nutritionist and she changed my diet, cut out a lot of stuff but I felt a lot better after that. Cannabis helped a ton during that time with pain, keeping food down and increasing appetite. It surprising all the food I had to stop eating, even stuff that is healthy to eat. Beans, broccoli etc with a lot of fiber can affect your stomach same with carbonated drink and alcohol.

If it's the weed, sounds like your smoking about an eighth a day, is it store bought or home grown? Maybe pesticides are present? Try not smoking for a bit see of you feel better or tapering down your consumption to see if it help with the pain again after a few days. Tolerance goes up but when you limit consumption you will feel it more after a few days. Definitely try edibles but they sometimes make me nauseous so just keep that in mind.

Good luck high and feel better soon.

Sorry it's probably the way I've worded it lol I have always been ill feeling and being sick but bud can control it to it but after a while I seem to then start feeling sick and I can't actually end up smoking due to the feeling, it's home grown but I no there's no pesticides being used just the base nutrients and a boost.

I could try the pill form but what is the ratio as I'm not growing on a scale like I am now the next time I pop seeds, tent will be 2x4 and one plant in a bubbler so if I can get 10oz ever time how much oil could that then make?

I have not smoked for a month now and I'm still I'll but I know if I smoke for a solid 2 weeks, starting at 1-2g per day for the first week then go upwards of 3.5g max I then start feeling worse, I never used to but I'm starting that's why I wondered if anyone felt the same, I've got some small Barneys Farm plants in flower that I'm going to try and push that extra few weeks so that I can get 100% amber trichs then this should really knock me out but until then I'm stuck :(.

I have some butter I made but it's pretty poor strength wise so it's probably not worth using :(.

I am truly sorry for what ails you. 1st I would suggest that you add a hi grade medicinal cannabis oil like a FECO. Figure out a good dosage starting very small like a dose the size of a grain of rice and work from there. Also go to the internet and find the Wholetones healing project by Michael Tyrell. Buy the 7 disc set. I swear by it. Next go to a bookstore and buy The Sacred Science by Nick Polizzi. Both of these fine healers also have blogs and email circles that can really help in healing oneself. You should also find a local Reiki healing circle close to you and ask for healing help. On that note you have been added to a global healing circleby me just moments ago. Our circle has over 6000 Masters in it now plus the rest of us. You have been added to the 24/7 circle permanently. That means a minimum of 24 of us will be sending you and your loved ones warm, caring healing energies around the clock. You will always have 2 or 3 Masters healing as well starting a minute ago. Can you feel us in your solar plexus? A slight tingle of warmth.
You are strong. Stronger than you know and will overcome your tribulations in time. Now get that oil and learn how to use it for your benefit asap. And please continue what you began with the Western Medicine Doctors. They can occassionally be helpful in this kind of issue.

Sorry this has happened to you.
I rarely get sick, I dont think I've had even a cold for at least 15 years.
But I agree with several others here.

You would most likely benefit from making a high CBD FECO and at least substitute some of your THC weed with high CBD strains for smoking.

Or make some capsules of high CBD weed decarbed and ground up and put into a capsule with olive oil.

If I am understanding you correctly, you very often get nauseated and vomit. Smoking cannabis helps up to a point and then may worsen the symptoms. Is that correct?

How old were you when these symptoms first began in any form and any severity?

Have you kept a diary of your symptoms, foods you eat, and other factors like temperature as perceived by you or actual temp and other conditions that may bring on your symptoms (like stress about something)? Any thoughts on what makes it better or worse?

Any surgeries involved?

Family members with similar problems?

Did you ever receive a diagnosis?

If Northern Lights helps are you using that? If not, why not? White Russian, Blue Dream, and some others may help if what you are using now doesn't.

Are you using/have you used conventional medicines and did they help?

Do hot showers or a little capsaicin cream on the belly help with this?

Has anyone ever suggested that you may have cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS)? Perhaps an autonomic nervous system disorder?

Do you experience any other symptoms with this like fatigue, dizziness, heart palpitations, or anything else?

A little info on CVS:

Cyclic vomiting syndrome

Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome - NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders)

Signs & Symptoms
The hallmark of cyclic vomiting syndrome is recurrent episodes of severe nausea and vomiting. In children, these episodes usually last for several hours to a few days. In adults, episodes tend to occur less frequently, but usually last longer for 8 days. These recurrent, characteristic episodes are extremely similar within each individual, often beginning at the same time of day, with the same severity, duration and associated symptoms, as in previous episodes. Episodes often occur in the early morning hours or upon awakening in the morning. Affected individuals may only experience episodes several times a year or as frequently as several times a month. On occasion after years of cycling, episodes can “coalesce” together with daily nausea and mild vomiting between severe attacks such that there is no symptom-free period.
The nausea and vomiting that characterize these episodes are often quite severe. Nausea can be persistent and intense. Unlike most other gastrointestinal disorders, the vomiting in CVS does not typically relieve the nausea. Affected children may experience bouts of rapid-fire, projectile vomiting as frequently as four or more times per hour with a peak pace of every 5-15 minutes. After the contents of the stomach are emptied, individuals may continue to dry heave. Symptoms can be so severe that affected individuals are unable to walk or talk and in some cases may appear unconscious or comatose. Episodes may cause affected individuals to withdraw from social interaction. The behavior of drinking water to dilute the bile and induce vomiting and hence reduce nausea is common, and should not be confused with a psychogenic cause. More commonly described in adults but also occurring in children, many take continuous prolonged hot shower or baths to alleviate the nausea.
Additional symptoms may occur during an episode including paleness of the skin (pallor), lack of energy (lethargy), fever, and drooling. The emesis is typically bilious (green or yellow). Repetitive vomiting may cause loss of vital fluids (dehydration). Gastrointestinal symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, and retching (gagging) are not uncommon. Affected individuals have a reduced appetite and weight loss may occur. Some individuals may exhibit a variety of migraine-like neurological symptoms including headaches, abnormal sensitivity to light (photophobia), increased sensitivity to sound (phonophobia), and dizziness or vertigo.
Many affected individuals can identify a precipitating event or “trigger” that sets off an episode of CVS. In children, stress is the most trigger, more commonly excitement (birthdays, holidays) than negative stress. Additional triggers include infection, certain foods such as monosodium glutamate, chocolate or cheese, physical exhaustion, lack of sleep, motion sickness, and incoming weather fronts. In adolescents and women, menstruation may trigger an episode. Many adults with cyclic vomiting syndrome are prone to anxiety or panic attacks, which can trigger episodes.

Since around 2010-11 i started being sick, literally filtered everything from foods I eat to the drinks and I simply can't find what it is, the doctors and specialists are hugely stumped and I'm getting another specialist coming from outside of the country specially to see what's even going on, had the camera down and they actually made it worse.

But I only started smoking cannabis in 2014-15 but very small amounts maybe 1-4g per week as at the time but stopped after a few months, then I started growing my own from 2016 and that's when I found that when I was consuming more bud it was then making me worse which made me question my whole growing to where I was thinking is it the nutrients left in or somewhat along those lines.

I'm not currently growing Northern Lights but I am planning a hydro grow so that I can keep a cleaner grow.

No one in my family has anything like what I have, even docs have never seen it in anyone, I can drink 100ml of water and being up 500ml of sick, if been on so many drips due to not being able to get anything down.

I hope the new specialist is able to get to the bottom of it. I highly recommend NL. Hopefully you can find something that helps. If it is CVS then amitriptyline, Co-Q10, and l-carnitine can be used for prevention/maintenance while zofran and others are used for acute episodes. It is difficult to diagnose and to treat.

I hope so too, once I know what I have them I can find a strain to suit but like you said N/L will be great for now, I now need to find a good seed bank as if tried goal queen, I may try N/L x Big Bud.

The day I wake up and not be instantly sick will be the day the earth chances to stand still haha.

I'm growing Northern Lights now (1st time grow) bred by Pyramid Seeds. Picked them up from True North. About 18% THC and the 1.7% CBD set it apart from the rest. She's been an easy grow. Hasn't complained about much at all. The pic is from last night. Today is day 31 since popping out.

I made a few mistakes and she let me know but so easy.

Hope you find answers soon.

Northern Lights is a great plant, great benefits too with it being a 100% indica strain :).

I'm looking at investing in one of those My DX Life to test my harvests on if anyone has used one or know someone with one, I suppose it will be a really great tool to use to know when and when not to harvest :).

its only in your head... smoking weed is not for everyone

Hi I’ve been following along with this thread and would like to offer u my humble opinion.
If I start smoking early ( wake&bake) and continue thru out the day & eve and retire, I get a migraine
Headache and vomit to release pressure, and a hot shower beating on my head till it’s too hot too stand.
Helps.... till I run out of hot. I think I OD on pot, to much of a good thing?
If I start after noon, no migraine, no pukeing, and no hot showers in the middle of the night. and I sleep through the night :yahoo: So even tho I break my own ban once in a while and still wake a bake at least I know what to b prepared for. Growers luv

My best wishes to the OP!!
Since I'm no doctor, nor a health care giver, I will only say what me and mine have found that works for us, and those that have asked us to work with them, as some have run out of road, with the mainstream health care.
Since you are growing for yourself, maybe looking into how to juice some of the fresh cannabis into a slurry, maybe fill a ice cube tray, so you can pop out a chunk each morning.
Maybe a nice cannabis olive oil infusion, ( I use 15 grams per quart of the best OO I can afford) we add a splash of Braggs Apple Vinegar, for a salad dressing, to bit of our olive oil infusion or on a piece of toast. We each use about a tablespoon per dose.
We infuse the cannabis in a hemp bag, in the olive oil, and I use my mashing stick for turning cabbage into sauerkraut, to mash the bag while the infusion is going on.
That matter after I squeeze the oil out, gets saved and added into whatever I'm cooking , like chili, or nice bone broth soup, so many ways if you ponder on it a bit.
Butter is an excellent way to ingest cannabis. Coconut oil is also an excellent way to extract cannabis goodies. And again so many dishes to put it back into.
We at one time I would separate the plant matter from the butter. Bake without it, however once I realize there are so many goodies remaining we started adding it back to the cookie batter, and we found that matter very helpful for us, and now never separate it. OR separate and add back into whatever was cooking that night.

What we all must remember, just like taking a vitamin D3 supplement, you must take it for a long time to start getting the benefits from it. Once your foundation is built with Vd3, you will be amazed at the results!!

Best of luck in your search!!
