The key is to leave that little sprout area just like you did. Those little growths bexome 2 main colas instead of 1. Train them down and let the ones below it catch up and boom 4 main shoots

I run a perpetual garden. My girls get a good amount of time in veg. I top them just like that. They will go though a couple of upsizing in my pots, but will end in a 7G smart pot. About 1 week into the 7G pot, I will top them again, all over. Anything that can be fimmed, gets fimmed. They go another 3 weeks in the veg tent then get moved to the flower tent. Makes for some bushy plants.
