hi just finished my second grow under these lights, buds were solid and sticky and gave me a yield of 1.18 grams / watt. It took a fair bit to tuning the room as I use to run leds with hps . Im now running an a/c and dehumidifier. using a homemade rdwc. Its some of the nicest gear Ive grown.

Nice job but without a pic, well you know....JK JK thats a great yield mate! Any idea what that cost in electricity compared to other lights? I'm very interested in use cost for the various light sources available. CHeers, gl to your grow!

$20 for 30 days veg.. about 35 days for each of these plants.16.00 each 30 days flower.. 60-70 days flower for each of my 315 cmh lights.. 1.15gpw from 2 -315 cmh lights. .12 cents kwh 26oz total.. in the mxed hydro thread. Thats about the cost of 1 600 hps light.. I think 2 315s are more efficient than 1 630 cmh..

hey bro.. im growing with a 630 chm de bat wing reflector .. dont waste your money on reflectors bat wing cheap is all u need and big blower to suck heat 6 or 8 inch with muffler filter to make quiet .. variable speed.. and fan
i think u will find the 630 de bulb produce much deeper penetration my friend leading to better results.. over 2 singles
im using 5 x 5 tent 8 ft high 6 inch filter blower inside tent .. and fan 28c area top of canopy..
what u think of my buds..
my 1st grow 20 yrs or so 1st maybe 50 yrs ago.. lol

ok third grow with 630cmh first grow .33g/watt , second 1.18g/watt last grow 1.33g/watt. awesome lights and I think I could have improved on this number but unfortunately I lost my mother plant due to a faulty timer, by the time I realized what had happened it had started to flower. Tried dark for a day then lights for 24/7 for 3 days and then 20/7 for a month couldnt reverse it back to veg. Trying a new strain critical +2 by dinafem the reviews look good fingers crossed it performs that way.

I just got into growing with a 315 in a 4' tent, about 13oz from three plants on the first grow and about 11.5 from two plants on the second... Both grows they went hard in veg but don't quite seem to finish as strong as I expect.
I'm considering a second 315 for flower only... Run 1x in seedling/veg and throw the second in for flower. My shop will let me choose my globes so if I buy an extra I can make it so that I have different colour temps for veg and flower... Do you guys think it's worth looking into?

Yes, worth considering two bulbs. I went with a 315w CMH in a 3x3 cabinet...second grow pics, both grows good. I veg through stretch with a 4 k bulb, then swap to 3k to finish flower. I also have a spare bulb for a few days if one fails.

Thanks for that info, I'll start reading up on colour temperature Did you do any grows with just the 4k bulb?
I planned to use the 4k bulb all the way through my first grow, then someone here gave me the idea to swap in a redder 3k for flower. The guy from the grow shop suggested I go with the 4k for the entire grow. Both grows now Ive swapped in the 3k after stretch.
ive done all my grows just with a 3200k 630 de bulb.. seems good .. im sure the 4 k to 3 k veg bloom switch be
good idea.. except is pain in butt to change these bulbs and u must do it right see your instructions..

I've had 2 more grows critical mass and critical+2, both strains yielded 2lb a plant , 1 plant 1light. both strains didn't have as much smell as the criminal +, I use to run, and weren't as sticky but the smoke was brilliant . that works out to 1.42g/watt, mind Im running co2 as well. With these 2 strains I had a bit of mold in the larger buds, I now tip the shit out of them whilst in veg to reduce the size of the bud and reduce the chance of mold. Im not sure which bulb I ran I think it was 4k, I couldnt swap to 3k during flower as I cant access the light once the scrog frames are full.

If I start out with the light burning about 50w for 2 weeks at 24/0 then to 90w for 3 weeks at 20/4 then 150w for 3 weeks at 20/4 and then 225w for 6 weeks at 12/12 and finishing at 275w for 2 weeks at 12/12 and get 9 oz then whats the easy way to cypher that into W/gr?
i think we should talk about how you run your lights...
it would be grams expected pre watt.. so if yo have good 630 watt light expect 630 grams back .. got nothing to do with crzy burning of your light ..

It actually has everything to do with what the actual Watts used is.
Least it does to me.
Thats like trying to figure out your MPG in your car that has a 45 gal tank and only burning 30 gal to go 300 miles but figure it as burning the whole tank.
your making something more difficult than it has to be..
with a cmh light you can expect 1 gram per watt produced for the grow..
but if you get 1. 5 to 2 feel pleased..

And thats why I said whats the easy way because I didn't see one.
So basically watts used is meaningless so actual "grams per watt" is also moot and means nothing to anyone using a dimmable light.
i would not dim my light full power Scottie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
