Did 12-12 ruin my grow?

Hey everyone! Just gonna cut to the chase here...

New to growing, ive only done 2 runs since march of 2019.

First run yielded 14grams, second one 1oz.

I think I mightve misunderstood something along the way of learning how to do this by myself.

Everytime someone said, "to initiate the flowering period, flip the light schedule to 12-12..."

NONE OF THEM SAID YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GO BACK TO 18-6 OVER A PERIOD OF TIME...

Do you know how low key angry i am that out of all of the hundreds of videos i watched, nobody told me to studily increase the amount of light they were getting..

Both grows i let the plants grow in 12-12 light, THE WHOLLLE time.

So basically i personally feel like i ruined my first two grows..

What do you guys think?
Could I have gotten a better yield if i had switched to 12-12 **For a period of time** and then steadily increase the amount of time in the light.

(Picture's are from first grow)

No, 12 hours is the proper flowering time for photo plants. If you slowly increase their daylight time, they will go back to veg. and it will have bad results. I do 19/5 for veg, 12/12 for flowering. Sometimes I slowly LOWER it to the 12 hours, but only put it back up when it’s veg time.

Okay cool thanks guys! Maybe this guy just didnt know what he was talking about xD lol.
in the future, if one person tells you something that every single piece of research you did contradicts, do not listen to that person.

to address your yield concerns:
are those photos are autos?
what light do you have?
what nutes are you using?
how many weeks of veg?
why isnt the tent more full?

from the photos you posted, the defoliating techniques look like they could use some work. in the first photo it looks like 2 small larfy branches were left on. removing those couldve fattened up the top buds a bit. they do look nice and frosty tho!
