First Grow Ever - 600W HPS - 12/12 From Seed

Ive decided to begin a post on my super secret marijuana grow. I have been growing for about 4 weeks with a few friends and have already ran into multiple problems including temperature strees, underwatering, severe over watering (by far the worse) and spider mites. Heres a Brief Description of my Grow room. its 4x5 almost completely lined with refelctive Mylar. The temperature can reach as high as 100 degrees f at its hottest. In recent weeks temperature has not exceed 90. the light is a single HPS 600w on a ballast. i run 2 circulating fans.

THe Plants.
I believe i have a total of 20-22 plants in the grow room
i hav 8 NY Diesel Plant that i was given from a close friend (the spider mites came with them), these plants are alot bigger than al the others and the reason i switched my cycle to flower from the seeding of the others.
i also have 12 mystery plants that are unsexed and 1 skunk #1 fem, #1 critical silver haze, and another #silver haze autoflower. most of the plants look somewhat healthy..

since i am not at my "castle" right ow i am not able to post pictures or the exact aspects of the grow room and plants, but as soon as im able i will make sure i do.

im willing to receive ANY AND EVERY suggestion, tip, pointer, criticism that anybody with a growing experience more than one grow. your information and knowledge is as valuable as gold to me.

was wondering if 20-22 plants is too much for a 600 wt HPS. i have another ballast so firing it up would just b a matter of purchasing an additional bulb and temp control. please give me input.

Completely understand all the "learning experiences" you've overcome in just the first few weeks and I respect that you actually overcame them! +Reps!

I have to agree that I think the eventual canopy of 22 plants is going to be tough for your 600 watt to penetrate and allow good bud development. You'll great decent top buds but so not much development of the lower bud sites.

I'm more concerned though with your heat issue and while I'm tempted to suggest adding the second light, I wouldn't dare until you can get that heat under control. I think ideally you should have an environment where you can keep the temperature below 85 max.

Are you venting any air or just moving the same warm air inside your grow area? I'll check back later for photos as they will undoubtedly answer most of my questions and allow for more specific suggestions for your consideration.

I do have a small exhaust fan at the top of the grow room. It's set up in a second bathroom so this was already a part of the room and I know for a fact it's effective in moving out smell. I also put a hole in the wall to allow cool air from inside the wall to be sucked in by my fan.

THE GROW ROOM/LIGHTING

I am extremely proud of my grow area. For my first time ever constructing something like this i believe it came out well.

The temperature gets very hot in the room at times. there are two fans, a exhaust fan and a vent i installed into the side of the dry wall.

I RUN A 600 WT HPS BULB 12/12.

THE PLANTS

NYD1). appears mostly healthy and happy. some discoloration occurred on the leaves. can anybody help me diagnose the problem?

NYD6) Six appears very unhealthy alot of the leaves are drying out. and the leaves around the cola at the top have completely dried out and are almost all gone,

Skunk 1). the skunk survived the sever overwatering and just now is making a recovery. its time that i give the skunk a bigger pot. i plan on installing a shelf in the room so once thats done ths will be the next to recieve a transplant.
