I have been doing grows on and off for many years.
After reading on here I have learned so much that this Feels like my first grow again.
And believe me when I say my grows were nothing to write home about,
Grow a crop during the summer to last me through the winter.
Well this grow will be the first time using some decent seeds.
I got the seeds on Tuesday about 5:00 Pm...and had 4 of them in water by 10:00 Pm.
I was so excited having good strains to plant, it took me hours to decide which strains to do.
I picked a Big Buddha Big Cheese (back left in picture)(Fem)
I picked a Paradise Seeds Sensi Star Feminized.(Front Left in picture).
Next I picked 2 regular Electric Lemon G regular seeds. Back Right In Picture.
I placed the seeds in folded up paper towels and drenched then in nice warm water and found a warm spot to put the seeds.
3 of the seeds popped before 24 hours was up.
I was so pleased the 3 popped that quickly. Rarely has the bagseed I've been using popped in less that 24 hrs.
Most around 32 hours or more.
I placed the 3 popped seeds in dry rockwool cubes and put into Hydroton clay pellets,
and then watered ever 6 to 10 hours with just plain tap water.
The Fourth seed never popped (is the any kind of germination guarantees from seed banks?) .
Ive been reading a lot of threads and have learned many new things about growing etc.
I have read its best to use this or that and everyone had a different way to start the seeds.
I decided that since the first 3 were lanky..(I had gotten a New TopLed LED).
I had the new LED lite too far way. it was like 3 to 3 1/2 feet away..where my HPS had been.
I dropped the light down to about a foot off the girls. That stopped the lankyness I hope.
So I then planted a Vision Seeds Crystal Queen Feminized into some solution. I decided to soak the Rock Wool this time in a 5ml to 4gal solution of FloraBloom and tap water. I left the rock wool soaking in there until the last seed popped. It actually took about 30 hours to pop the last seed in the same solution in papertowels.
I then placed the seed into the soaked rockwool. It took 2 days more to pop out of the rockwool. Two long days of me sweating over did I kill the seed by too much water/solution drowning the seed. At least 2 times I got up to look at the rockwool thinking about squeezing some of the solution out. I was able to hold out..and the last seed then popped out of the rockwool.
Comparing the looks of the stems in the picture, the 3 that lanked out a little the stems are still lanky and having trouble holding them selves up still.
The stem of the one that I soaked in the FloraBloom solution is nice and fat looking. So I would have to say that the usage of the Florabloom made a noticeable difference.
The 5ml of H202 probably didn't hurt either.
