Everything seems ok. I fed everyone @ 900 ppm two days ago. Rhino is exploding. Lucy is just taking her sweet time.

hope everyone is doing well.

sorry for the delay.

Day seven of flower

Ok so a lot has happened since I last posted.
The reveg rhino roots had gotten so strong that I transplanted it to the five gallon hempy bucket.
I have taken five clones from the g.g. and two clones from the rhino reveg. The first set of g.g. clones look very weak but I have learned that looks can be deceiving.

here are the clones

Today I fed the big girls (the g.g. has already shown pre-flower) their first real drink of my flower mix.

Here they are basking in the glow of 1400 led watts.

The re-veg rhino is an amazing plant. that runt will end up giving me another run at some really good smoke. I am so glad I tried to re-veg it.

hope all is well with everyone!
:Namaste:

yellowing is indeed a phenotypic expression, some sativas tend to do that a lot. from all the plants i'm growing right now, my G13 haze is the only one yellowing, which is very sativa dominant btw (like 85%). Nothing to worry about ;)

looking good in there, keep fighting the good fight

thanks for chiming in!!
the yellowing has mellowed out a bit. she is very lime green. but I think that's where the sativa phenol in this plant ends. im convinced there is more indica in this plant. like maybe 70/30 indica/sativa.

check out this update.

Day 14 of flower

hello everyone,

magic is beginning to happen.

the rhino is acting the way it should at this point. this re-veg is going to give me so much more than the original runt hahahaha. not to mention her clones are healthy and will give me hours of future entertainment. im glad I did this. I will keep the rhino in my garden as long as possible. its clones root very easy and it is a pleasure to grow. not to mention it is top quality smoke. 8/10 in my book.

"you got some s'plaining to do Lucy!"
something about her isn't right. she is growing just fine, but growing like an indica. not like a sativa. im thinking she isn't as much sativa hybrid as I thought. color seems right but everything else is indica. leaf structure = indica. stout leaves, most sativa have thin leaves. node spacing = indica. nodes are closer together than the rhino.
ill just keep doing what im doing. like I said, I think lucy has some tricks up her sleeve.

live long and prosper.

Day 21 of flower

it is getting cramped so pictures are not the best. I threw my arm out and don't feel like moving the buckets for better pictures.

Rhino & Lucy

0z_-_Copy.jpg

that reveg has me thinking. maybe ill do another four plant mini sog, harvest only the main cola and then reveg. if I had four revegs exactly like the runt, it would be a perfect grow. but is my success just lucky? does it always reveg so healthy like this? has my wheels turning.

anyways everyone is healthy and happy here. I am starting to see trics forming on both plants. the rhino wins that hands down but Lucy is not disappointing. she has some nice sugar leaves forming.

hope all is well.

:Namaste:

once again sorry for the delay.
holidays are busy.

Lucy is a cheeky lady, she is indeed showing her hidden hand. her main cola is a thing of beauty. 13" of closely noded, "whispy" (like a friggin sativa!) flowers. I am very pleased with her.

I decided to set one of her clones to flower. I am going to lollipop it so it only has a main cola. if its side branches are nice enough, I will cut and clone them. I trans planted her to a two gallon hempy bucket. im going to try something different with this one. I have filled the bottom of the hempy bucket with grodan cubes, up to the 1/4" hole. I then filled the remaining with the coco/perlite combo. I want to see if the grodan makes any difference at all.

Day 34 of flower

Lucy is a monster! im in love with this beast. she smells like a tropical banana. I have been feeding her @ 1800 ppm and she is taking it like a champ. it appears that Lucy grabs her nutes as they travel up the main stem. her side branching and flowers are noticeably larger towards the bottom and thin out as it gets to the top. but, she is putting a huge amount of energy into her main cola, just like the description another g.g. grower had. "the best part of the show happens on the main cola." she is definitely putting on a main cola show.

rhino time!
im pushing her harder than I pushed my last round of rhino. I want to see if I can get more out of her. I fed her 2000 ppm and im seeing some nute burn on her larger leaves. nothing to bad, but I can tell im pushing it.

Day 42 of flower

It has been a good week for my plants. all of them are showing great growth. the size difference in the clones is remarkable.

check out the clones. these two are going to be little trees by the time they are ready for flower.

0g_-_Copy.jpg

here is the clone that I set to flower last week. day eight.

0a_-_Copy.jpg

here is a group shot.

0e_-_Copy.jpg

here is lucys amazing cola.

0d_-_Copy.jpg

lucy is forming two types of flowers. every bud below the main cola is stacking and becoming plump, like a indica.

0b_-_Copy.jpg

as the flowers move up the main cola they gradually become wispier. at the top of her main cola she is forming a crown, instead of a stacked flower. the flowers seem to have landrace genetics. only forming large calyx. im thinking she might be 12+ week flower time. she has formed no red hairs at all.

0c_-_Copy.jpg

what an amazing plant. I walked in the room this morning and lucy smelled like a commercial jet. she had this weird diesel fuel smell "thing" happening.

want some re-veg rhino bud porn?

hope everyone is healthy and happy.

Day 49 of flower

Lucy is looking great. she is starting to put on alittle weight. I will feed her two or three more times before I start flush. I have already started flushing the re-veg rhino. I have also been trimming the lower area of the rhino drying and smoking it. its pretty harsh, but I haven't had any bud in two months. Lucy remains unmolested.

0u_-_Copy.jpg

I have been growing for a few years now and there is one thing all my grows have lacked. FLAVOR. don't get me wrong, I have had some great smoke, cured for three months and tasted great. but it was lacking something. I have started collecting the parts necessary for a super soil. i really want to try for a better taste now and i am positive it has to do with the hydroponic style i used. i am hoping to get my soil to the point where all i have to do is add ph'd water. from veg through flower. i am currently cooking up my own version of a modified subcool super soil. it smells like something should be growing in it. hahahaha. im pretty excited about trying this organic approach. i am reusing my coco for this soil.

hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Day 57 of flower

I harvested the rhino on day 53. the trics were showing all cloudy. I got about an ounce of dry buds from it and a nice amount of bud trim for oil. I have never made hash oil before. it is without a doubt the most powerful thing I have ever smoked. the rhino was very stinky at harvest. my whole house smelled like rhino. im not sure if I can continue with it. the clones I got from the reveg aren't doing much. /shrug

lucy is doing great. I fed her for the last time yesterday. I will only feed her ph'd water from now. im thinking she probably has two weeks left. I looked at her trics yesterday and they show partly cloudy. some of her lower flowers hair is turning orange, maybe its pink. hard to tell under the led but, it is definitely a lighter color than im used to. I have been moving clones from lucy into the flower. one a week. yesterday i transplanted the largest clone into the super soil i made. lucys clones are very healthy. i have managed to keep them a very healthy green with no red showing on her branches or leave stems. i am very excited to see how this super soil does. only one of my clones is in the soil. the other two are in coco.

group shot. ***sorry for the poor photo***

her lower canopy flowers are very impressive. i lollipopped one of the clones, but after seeing what these flowers are doing, i will just trim the lower area.

0j_-_Copy.jpg

i plucked a few of her dying fan leaves off. i rubbed the stem between my fingers. she smells like Christmas. smells like clove spikes stuck in a orange. i am in love with lucy.

hope all is well with you guys.

Day eight of cure

smell: smells like a ranch on a dewy summers morning. wet hay. hint of citrus oranges/lemons/lime.

I have smoked some of the smaller dried nugs and the buzz is very pleasant. kind of like having a cup of coffee that makes you grin.

I had to cut the main cola into three pieces for curing. here is the very top.

0v_-_Copy.jpg

my super soil clone is doing great. I have only fed it water @ 6.3 ph. it has no issues at all. I plan on letting them flower longer. maybe 11-12 weeks.

thanks for tagging along guys.

:Namaste:

Looking beautiful...seems the curing process is working like a treat for you.

:thumb:

I use a very simple curing process. I hang the flowers for three days then I spread them out in a gallon zip lock bag. I try not to let them pile on top of each other. every day I will open the bag for about 15-30 minutes. after the second week I don't have to open the bags every day. I got about 2 1/2 - 3 ounces of dry flower from lucy.

Interesting...so you hang them upside down for 3 days only regardless of how dry they are before going in zip locks which you use instead of air-tight jars? why not wait until they're fully dry or close to fully dry?

:Namaste:

hi sol,

i find that three days gets my flowers dry to the point of either jarring or bagging. i have them set under a air vent so they get a lot of air. i have tried jars and paper bags and like what they do. but with the rhino, i got better results from the zip lock bags. the buds had a better smell. now maybe that is because i have gotten a little better at growing or strain genetics....etc...etc.... ultimately i am liking my results. im not really in a hurry to get them dry at this point. i have the smaller trimming in a 12 ounce ball jar, that i raid. so i am smoking the smaller stuff while the larger cures longer. by the time i get to the main cola, my clones will be dry.
speaking of clones, they appear to be trying to flower in 18/6. i find this perplexing. one of them is three months old.
