Flushing with Cal-Mag to release salts

Hello:

Listening to Dude grows podcast and they had a guest and they got into talking about flushing and the pros and cons. But there was a discussion about using Cal-Mag when flushing, not for the purposes of adding calcium and magnesium but that it greatly increases the amount of salts OUT of the soil. I assume the magic of chemistry and exchanging ions. I had never heard of this and interested as to what others know about this technique.

Not sure about the science but this is very interesting! I use alot of cal mag and try and water to runoff so hopefully I'm doing this without knowing it! I also use Vulx in my soil (mostly for water retention) which I'm told allows salt to be dumped better or some such. I know @Vulx has all that book learnin' down I bet he could shed some light on the subject! CHeers!
