Help, mini plant in trouble

the smallest girl got a new home, it might be a death sentence tho. I had some old ff soil that sat in the basement for a long time,it was really dry and after soaking it to rehydrate it I noticed it had an odd smell.

odd smell as in a bad smell, or a forest floor sort of smell?

not a smell I would associate with soil, usually my soils smell like a freshly dug potato. it could be a plastic kinda smell from the 5 gallon bucket.

Day 5 update, she just might pull out of it. the spots have stopped appearing on new growth. even tho she has lost too many leaves the small buds seem to be growing bigger. I finally got some new nutes the grow store recommended general organics biothrive bloom 2-4-4 the guy said it should get me back on track,he threw in a sm bottle of fish shit he said to use it every watering to get rid of any salt issues. both minis got a feeding last night. they seem a bit greener today and look very happy.

I figured out the weird smell from the old soil...the bucket it was in was originally filled with laundry detergent. it must have had some detergent residue left in it... let's hope it's not stronger than dirt

My mini plants have been born again hard, the bigger has not had any new brown spots for a week. She has managed to grow some more leaves. The smallest loves her bigger home and has regained her color. The smell from them is so nice as I sit with them enjoying acoup of coffee an donut.
