How to use a jewelers loop properly?

I heard a great description once of what to look for: Clear trichomes look like glass and cloudy trichomes look like plastic.

I harvested a CBG plant last night and took some trichome photos: here.

I use a Carson MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x hand-held mini microscope w/ built-in LED light, $15.

I also have a Celestron that does a great job for taking photos w/ built-in 5mp camera (still or video):

I took this shot with the Celestron... focus was on the fungal filaments not the trichomes:

Easy to use, maybe hard to interpret what you see. I sometimes struggle with what looks clear and what looks cloudy or milky. I tend to go by ambers. When I start seeing 5% to 10% ambers I start thinking about chopping. Now I've read that trichomes continue to mature as the plant dries so maybe I should be chopping earlier?

I like to hold the lens of the loupe over my phone's camera. Makes it a lot easier to see. I've seen a couple of guys use rubber bands to hold it in place.

I used scotch tape to hold my 30x Loupe onto the back of my cell phone camera. It worked kinda half assed! Only got about 1 decent pic outta 10.

I bought a jewellers loop. The 40x one and when I look through it I can’t tell of the trichomes are clear or milky ! I took a picture I’m just not sure what I’m seeing or if my plant is ready. I’ve added a pic, maybe someone can tell me if theses are clear or milky.

The plants strain is Forbidden Runtz. It just smells amazing right now!

Clean to me keep it up.

Ah yes I understand. Now sorry I didn't mean to sound ruid with that comment wat you looking for loon like drops of water except they stand.up like little fingers when u see them early they will be clear then they become.milky then turn amber
