420, I appreciate you welcoming me as one of your own. A couple of months ago I was completely ignorant to any type of plant cultivation. Then along came wonderful Mr. Trump and also, mercifully, the legalization of recreational marijuana. Pretty sure it's just an attempt to distract us but I'll happily play along. Long story short, if it wasn't for this community I wouldn't have passed the germination stage. Mucho gracias to everybody who answered my questions without being bothered by us noobs. I'm sure some of y'all have answered the same questions hundreds maybe thousands of times but are still as helpful and precise as if it was your 1st time. Unlike the other kind who gets aggravated over simple questions and say nothing but "google it stupid." I didn't start a journal yet cuz I never thought they'd survive this long. But I've taken plenty of notes and pictures along this adventure and feel it's time move them into their new home ! Now on to the specs..... I'm 10 weeks in from the day they popped their heads and they're still in veg. I've done everything from topping, supercropping/snapped in half and taped, lst, leaf tucking, pony-tailing and any type of training method i can find online.

What Strain is it? Astrodawg
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? Hybrid
How Many Plants? 5ish (a few guest appearances)
Is it in Vegetative or Flowering Stage? Veg
If in Vegetative Stage... How Long? 10 weeks today (lost about 10 days or more due to nute def/lockout)
Indoor or Outdoor? 4x4 Apollo Horticulture tent
Soil or Hydro? Soil
If Soil... What is in your Mix? FFOF w/ 35% perlite and dolomite lime
If Soil... What Size Pot? 5 gal RootPouch
Size (Wattage) of Light? Apollo Horticulture 600w Dimmable Air cooled MH and HPS for flower (that I forgot has been on 50% power .)
Is it Air Cooled? Yes but no inline fan atm
Temperature of Room/Cabinet? 72-75 day 68 night
RH of Room/Cabinet? 50-60 day 90+ night ( I've read it raises at night but should I address this?)
PH of Medium or Reservoir? 6.5ish
Any Pests? Kids
How Often are you Watering? Every 7-10 days when pots get light but they never dry completely or droop/wilt or anything... again, cause for concern or nah?
Type and Strength of Fertilizers used? FFOF trio and just got some blackstrap for the cal/mag, K, other beneficial goods coupled with its chelating powers.

This is my setup

An old school breeder i know insisted the grodan a ok plugs don't need soaking just a rinse with tap water so on 3/23/17 i placed 5 beans in cubes and into a NanoDome on a heating pad (Xbox One) 2 days later i see this in the morning
420-magazine-mobile842806235.jpg

This is later that same day now under an HO T5
420-magazine-mobile784807300.jpg

3/27/17 - They started to stretch and taproots were poking out so I transferred to solo cups of FFOF. I was worried at first hearing so much about this soil being too hot for seedlings yet i had no choice. I think being in rw gave it time to grow a lil more and strengthen it before hitting the soil vs germinating directly in it ?! Idk just a thought.

3/29/17 - Added a few more for shits and giggles

Two more Astro's and an OG Tangie with a black breadtie poppin out the rw

420-magazine-mobile473847414.jpg

4/25/17 - OG Tangie #1 is ready for Nebula's manifold technique. The moment i saw the 6th node, i topped to 3rd and removed all other growth.

5/4/17 - I rotate them occasionally
420-magazine-mobile769926615.jpg
420-magazine-mobile1052171293.jpg

5/6/17 - First order ever thru a seedbank arrives, there's a reason why GYO is sponsored by these wonderful people. The selection is ridiculous (a good thing lol) and cust. service is a live chat so it's instant. Highly recommended to anyone in search of a quality seedbank. I immediately pop two dark devil autos and a bubba yum auto in some water to soak.
420-magazine-mobile429411728.jpg

5/10/17 - After 24 hr soak, put in rw, popped their heads and into soil they went
420-magazine-mobile720035479.jpg

5/13/17 - Update on OG Tangie #1. Ready for 2nd cut using Nebula's manifolding technique. Waited until both sides grew 4 nodes, topped to 3rd, removed growth on 2nd node
420-magazine-mobile488584322.jpg
420-magazine-mobile2010225526.jpg

5/14/17 - I fed them for the first time 2 days ago. I used a modified chart and didn't realize at the time it was a full dose and not 1/4 strength... these are the results

5/16/17 - OG Tangie #2 on the left, two DDA's and a bubba yum auto in back
420-magazine-mobile234071033.jpg

5/25/17 - Flushed them on the 14th with about 12 gals of tap water. I was told approx. 3x the amount of soil in water is needed for a proper flush. After 12 gals my runoff raised from 5.7 to 6.2. From my understanding, you shouldn't change the ph more than half a point in a day to avoid things like ph fluctuation. I let them dry out for a few days before a 1/4 strength feeding. This is a few days later.
420-magazine-mobile1696325092.jpg

5/27/17 - Removed the worst leaves and tied them down. Solo cups in the middle from left to right are the runt, OGT #1 and OGT #2. 1st pic is 2 a.m.

6/2/17 - First time ever seeing these in person but I'm happy to announce my babies are becoming ladies ! Is it normal for 5 plants to all show their sex on the same morning. Some were to small to get a clear shot of but the led microscope confirmed it and these are visible on every plant. I was messing with them the night before and nothing was there. Only thing I did was raise the light power from 75% at 450w to 100% being 600w, not sure if this was just a coincidence or i accidentally stumbled onto something.

Very nice Introduction..
Welcome aboard learning myself but feel free to ask away. My world there is no such thing as a dumb question. Just that question alone. Lol

Anyways saw you followed my buddy Leo so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm king or joe btw way depending on how you like authority or not in regards to calling me king. Lol sorry not good at ice breakers. Sorry about your luck with trump fir president. Bit we in ontario has a Crack k head mayor. Everyone seemed to back. Speaks high of society. Lol Anyways not fir me to judge that's the good man above job apparently.

Like I said ask away and it looks like you've been studying the fine art of cannabis. . . .

Sounds like you really did your homework, they look good man, even handled the nute overdose like a pro! You said your light was exhausted, but do you have an exhaust fan for just the tent? 90 rh is really high and you want some air circulation in there, you also don't want to have to tango with mildew, it's given a couple growers on here a hell of a headache.

Yeah flowering 30-40 is good . For humity and 74-79 hot spots they say. I'm. Still expirimenting myself to test this theory but to maintain cooler Temps I might look at getting a 4 inch with carbon filter out take. Good call Leo pointing that out bro.

Yeah I'll be posting within a few weeks Leo. I am really Hoping for two ounces dry off the smaller 1 and 3-4 off bigger one. Pretty dense nugs compact, Will see. Also any friend of yours has my respect. . . .

I tried my best to not panic and read the plants, they really do talk to you ! I have an air cooled hood but no inline fan. The 4x4 tent is in an 8x8 spare room that has a window fan pulling in fresh cool air and a standing fan that rotates and circulates everything bringing temps where they and RH down to the 40-60 range. Mind you, at least one side and the door is open for this to work. The RH doesn't go that high until its bedtime and i zip everything up. Mold is something I want no part of. I figured its ok to leave everything as is until flowering commences and most likely grab a dehumidifier just to be safe and an inline fan to be able to close it up (90 RH, even if only at night, is high but should be ok due to still being in veg, right ?!?) Don't really need the carbon as my grow is legal and no one here is complaining. Still in veg and even the kids tell me the "tomatoes" smell good lol.

74-79 hot spot theory ?? Please elaborate...
Meaning good to grow In for temperature sorry.

I feel like veg I like it high 70 ' s low 80 ' s myself allows plants more flexibility I find and humidity in veg around 50-70 % . Hope that helps.

So your tent is basically a room inside a room? Mine is as well. I leave the bottom vents (black mesh) open all the time and I have 2 clip on overhead fans and one on the floor to push air around. I also have an extractor fan that I run intermittently at dark and full time during light. If I remember I close the vent facing the window, but not always. Pulling the blinds makes the room darkish (where I live it's light til 10). I'm fairly certain inside the tent is black. I'm half way through flowering and everything is cruising along.

Long story short - 90% RH sounds crazy wrong. Everything I'm reading (always a problem) says 40% is about right. I seem to be around 50-65, so I've invested in a small dehumidifier that should arrive today (£30).

I can't tell by the pictures of your tent. Is there mesh over the vents? If not, I would invest in some. You need to circulate air. Also if your room doesn't get outside air you might want to look at adding a CO2 generator.

Still in veg and even the kids tell me the "tomatoes" smell good lol.

even in veg 90% can cause mildew, it also doesnt help that there is no air circulation, honestly both those things together create the perfect storm for mildew or mold. air circulation plays a huge part in healthy plants, you want some sort of constant air flow/air recycling (sucking in outside air and exhausting air already inside tent/room). our plants do the opposite of what we do with air, they intake carbon dioxide and "exhale" oxygen so once they've used up all the carbon dioxide they need more to stay healthy, so if your not exhausting the air and replacing it they wont reach their full potential. im not exactly sure if it will kill them though.

Also if your room doesn't get outside air you might want to look at adding a CO2 generator.

i am by no means an expert but im currently in week 6ish (bad at recording things lol), and my grow cabinet has run the entire time between 45-65% rh and ive had no problems. but i also have a 240cfm exhast fan, two passive intake vents, and a small fan moving air around in there. i may be wrong but im pretty sure i read something saying that even if rh is a little higher, that with good air flow and circulation there is no need to worry.

Heard same thing and it made sense to me.

Yes there's mesh over the vents. I've opened them on the days it got too hot and it did a good job of dropping a few degrees. I tried to make it clear earlier, my bad if I didn't succeed, but yes my room gets outside air. I have a box fan in the window (w/ mesh screen for unwanted ufo's) aimed at the tent which is about a foot away with the side flap open completely so that the air goes straight from outside directly into tent plus a standing oscillating fan in the tent circulating everything further. RH is perfect between 40-60. It's the 6 hrs lights off when I close the tent to make sure it's dark. During this 6 is when RH jumps to 90+. The moment it's lights on, flaps open, fans are spinning and conditions are perfect within mins. I've been letting it slide cuz I figured there's no harm since it's only a few hrs but should I still invest in an exhaust fan to address this ? I'll take a pic in the morning. My morning lol

Ok. Now I get it. Your tent when sealed is a problem. Your plants need to breathe. I think if you went 12 hours like you are doing you will kill them. When you close the window blind is the room dark? Do people walk in and out? Mine isn't black but it is dark enough to cause the inside of the grow tent to be black. It's a spare room, so traffic isn't an issue. From everything I've read and my own example I don't need a fan to pump air into the tent. The vents at the bottom are good enough and they are always open. I think you should get an extractor and a bit of ducting. They aren't very expensive and they fit easily in the grow tent (if like mine it has slots and hoods for it). You can add a carbon filter later if you want to deal with the smell.

Can I make a lot her suggestion to invest on ore co2 supply the better right?
Look at am ez co2 bag hang then 6 inches above plant tops make sure you have some fan movement to blow it around it is 40$ ebay and just hang it it last up to year. Extra insurance. Lpl besides that sounds good.

Do u keep a fan on during off hours? Keep one on especially in flowering.
