My "Other" Garden

Been a strange spring, earlier in the month we had a few days in the 80's, then just 3 days ago I woke up to find frost! The garden is progressing just the same. Last fall, after a serious vampire problem (think Santa Carla, LOL), I planted a huge crop of garlic in my raised beds, they are putting out scapes right now (really good blended with basil, pine nuts and olive oil into a garlic/basil pesto!) and should be ready to harvest in a couple weeks. After harvest it gets more interesting, you have to "cure" garlic, and it has to be done out of the sunlight (sunlight changes the flavor, and not for the best!), so it has to go into the garage for a few weeks, then it has to be cleaned, and the tops and roots trimmed or braided into garlic "ropes". Whole garage and house smells like Little Italy!

The broccolini and flat leaf parsley are kicking butt.

As is the Zucchini, I had to let the asparagus (in the foreground) go to seed as it's recovering from being transplanted.
