OG Kush & Girl Scout Cookies Grow

I suppose I should have started this a while back. We just finished the first full week at 12/12.

The OGK was started in small cell-pac type containers. I think this was a bad idea. They stunted and were not looking very good compared to the the GSC in a 4” container.

Finally into 3 gal pots.

I start the lst on the final transplant. I set the plant rootball so the main stem is almost at a 45 degree angle to the ground and use metal stakes to keep it from straightening out. You can start whenever you like. It is easier when they are young and flexible. Start the topping about 4 weeks into veg as to not shock them too much. I keep my lights close the first couple weeks and it seems to make the nodes stack up tight.

ETA. You can lst at any time. I have a stretchy leader on the GSC that I had to tie back with surveyors tape. Also when pruning I wait until about 10 days before I switch to 12/12 to top, this is what works for me. I also will top the longer branches to split the leader.

That’s what I do. I do not “break the stem” I just pull the tape until the stem is horizontal. I put the tape about 2 nodes behind the very tip.
I’ll see if I can get some pics tonight but I started the one OGK horizontal to the ground at the last transplant. When it got close to the opposite side of the container I turned it to follow the rim of the container it’s kind of like a @ now.
It sure if that makes sense lol.

Well it’s hard to say. I waited about a month and they were in their final container, really no reason to start before hand in my situation. This allows plants to concentrate on root growth which is most important. If you too too soon it’s like cutting grass too early in the spring and it will stop root growth to replace the cut growth.
I’m still fairly new to growing this plant, but I’ve grown just about everything else from flowers to trees.
Do you have pics of yours?

We must be the new guys lol. No one else seems to give a hoot about 2 amateurs lol.

Are they from seed or clone. Looking a little dry maybe or maybe too close to the the light to me but I don’t know anything about your grow. What’s your medium etc. I know you said you are about to move outdoors are you going into pots or direct in to the earth?

Some fresh pics of the developing buds. I only pulled one plant out to take pics tonight. This is the most advanced plant. The ones I did more lst on are a few days behind in development. This one is also a different cultivar (bag seed) and has always been aggressive. It sprouted like Rambo and never let off the gas.

I’m wondering when you all start to see the crystal development and other awesomeness that I see in these awe inducing pics? Or is that some pro stuff?

I checked out yours. They look good. Good thing you got that male out of there. I’ll keep an eye on yours also. I would have started mine earlier maybe but didn’t find this place and was a little intimidated at first I guess lol. Take it easy.
I def was also a little timid at starting one too.. it's a little hard getting interaction on your journal but if you keep at it you'll have more people than you expected in here! Also as for my males, I ended up harvesting some pollen off of one, and he was all purple and stuff so hopefully he'll give whatever girl I cross him with some color :yummy:
