Lemon juice, no preservatives though.
2 1/2 lbs of Peatmoss will reduce the pH of 1 sq. yd of soil by 1.

When did you check your pH? Was it rite after watering or moist soil? I find when my soil is saturated it pH at 6.3 then as it dries it gradually rises to 7.0 once almost completely dry. This fluctuation is beneficial allowing the plant to have better access to different compounds.

Yeah, but 7.5-8.0 is definitely too high. Go with pine bark, wood chips or peat moss to drop ph in the mix.
