I usually don't do journals, but i came across this forum while learning about NPK for Cannabis and learnt quite a bit. Especially thanks to @farside05 @MrSauga
There were lots of concerns about Megacrop not being good enough nutrient, so i figured i'd do a journal. This is my first grow with Megacrop.

The seeds are Ava Seeds-Furious Candy. Started in my aerogarden on Feb 21 (see photo attached). 6/6 seeds sprouted, 5 survived, 4 were transplanted into my autopot system on Mar 07. Nothing extraordinary during vegging other than than 3 plants are of same pheno, 1 (top left) grew different and wasn't manifolded. As mentioned, plants adapted to the new environment very well, didn't enjoy being topped at all, but 3 were manifolded to 8 colas and 1 plant (top left) was just topped once and let grown.

Plants were flipped on Good Friday - hey, could there be a better occasion? lol. I was told these plants don't stretch much, so i kept nitrogen low and 2 days into after flipping they told me they needed more nitrogen. Correct same. First flowers showed 2 weeks after flip and are now packing on size.

This is where all the fun starts and i start manipulating NPK with Sweet Candy and BudExplosion. Tag along if you like. Pics attached of what has happened up till now.. nothing exciting, which is good :). Also including 2 pics from my last grow to show how they finished up and have something to compare to.

Hello @MrSauga thanks for dropping in. NPK of sweet candy is 0-17-28. Like you know, this is my experiment run with using my own specific NPK values instead of predetermined formulas. I'm currently flowering them with 157-60-275 (see pic attached). I was told by a friend who's growing these same beans but 3 weeks ahead of me that they don't stretch much and considering these ladies were manifolded and fully mature, i believed him. I initially flowered them with 145-60-280 but they asked for more nitrogen within 2 days so i moved up to 157 and they responded within a day. Now that they should be finishing growing any minute and i'll start decreasing N and increasing K. Probably finish somewhere around 110-90-340.

Any thoughts? My numbers may be a little different than farsides' spreadsheet, i had made a few minor adjustments.

I admit, I've done this thing a couple of times before but I'm curious to see if I can pull off similar results as past with using less than $20 in nutrients and expand my knowledge of growing while doing so.
So far I have nothing bad to say about this cheap fertilizer, but apparently flowering is when people are having problems? So I'm curious to see the quality of buds produced.

Going along just fine. 4 weeks since the flip, about 15 days of budding. Pretty much half way. The buds are throwing out nice crystals and starting to plump up. 1 plant is starting to drop leaves already, she'll finish in 2 weeks or so. She's not sick or missing anything, just a fast girl. Should've kept her babies.

I've decreased nitrogen and increased phosphorus and potassium a bit already. I'll slowly keep titrating in that direction. Keeping ppms around the same and increasing in the last week or so.

It's starting to get really warm now, I've had to turn down the lamp. I'd hate to finish the grow with less light and it really wouldn't be a fair comparison. Hoping it cools down for a couple more weeks.

I know you're not really a believer in high PK but in the name of experiment I'm gonna keep pushing them higher. I'm hesitant to go much higher on P.. but K will go even higher this week. @MrSauga ever tried supplementing with glutamine? I added a bit my last 2 res changes and I swear buds got frosty over night. Could be just that time in their flowering cycle as well :smokin:

I don't think it's so much I'm not a believer as it is most growers won't be able to feed at those levels without issue.
Your ratios are working fine for the most part, maybe a little low on the N. The pics show the tops all are holding their green but the mains are fading. That may be from the reduced N at feeding compiled with the normal plant fade you may see at the stage. How much longer do you think they have?

I have not. Glutamine falls in the amino acids family so you may want to look at the other elements the plant needs in that category.
At the end of this article they list the 20 amino acids a plant uses.

My friend who is running the same plants, only 2 weeks ahead of me took his Early phenos down 2 days ago. The breeder claims 42-45 day flowering.. maybe they are right about the quicker pheno (you can see 2 clearly different phenos in the pics attached). I usually like to add on week extra from what the breeders claim. So I'll take down the one fading away in about 10 days the other ones still have at least 2 weeks to go. Though I almost killed one plant as one of my pot ran dry for a few days ☹
I thought of the nitrogen defencie as well, but my friend's plants did exactly the same and he's using a premium zillion part fertilizer. I can't blame anything on Megacrop till now. I was low on nitrogen during the stretch, but that's my fault. Wasn't expecting much of a stretch.
@MrSauga any thoughts on the "new" Megacrop formula? Or is there a thread where it's being discussed, whether this site or another that you can point me to? The new 1 part and 2 part.

Great frost rails on that pic above. I have a feeling the new formula may cause new isues for growers. They reduced the K which was a good move. They increased the P which I don't agree on and the increase in Ca and Mg is good for Hydro growers but not really good for soil. So I'm on the fence right now until I see some results. I don't go outside much of this forum so I'm not sure really where to direct you for more info.

I grow in Coco.. super happy with all the changes. Placed a new order today.

Grow is coming along. 3 different phenos. Still got about 10 days to go on the earliest pheno.
