Root getting to water

Question is ,
If these clones have short (1inch) roots . Would it benefit at all if I put these clones in a tray with a little water at the bottom so that the roots will grow faster to get to the water ? wadda ya think ?

I wouldn't imagine so, the roots do need to dry out a fair amount. It would be a good idea to water mostly from the bottom and sides so the roots will seek out the more damp areas.

Watering before the soil dries out and clipping the fan leaves like that will slow growth. Let the soil dry out first and let the fan leaves be.
