Spalding’s Outdoor AutoFlower Soil Grow In Florida

Spalding - I just subscribed. Unfortunately for you, however, you have way more experience than I do, growing marijuana. I've never germinated a seed, but I plan to do just that in the near future. So, if you don't mind, I'll pull up a 5 gallon bucket (turned upside down, of course) and sit and learn from your experiences through the end of your grow. I have to say, I hope that my first grow turns out as good as yours seems to be doing, 6 - 7 weeks in. Good luck to you, my friend.

Welcome Fish and thanks for subscribing. This is my first grow also and I’ve learned a LOT just by doing what you’re doing. There is so much information out there but it’s also broken down to where you can single out just about any issue that could ever pop up. I search threads all the time for my current situation and for future situations that are coming up weeks ahead. That’s the beauty of cannabis, it’s all basically tried, tested, and proven and with some time spent researching, dedication, and staying involved, you can grow beautiful plants. I’m very particular myself, so this style of growing/nurturing really fits my personality. I spend a lot of time with my girls and it’s so much fun watching them grow! I wish you good luck in your coming first grow, and hopefully mine can finish up strong. Cheers :)

Agreed. This forum is incredible. I can't believe it took me this long to find it. Well, the catalyst was the wife willing to look the other way while I setup my lab in the basement. That's when I started the frantic pace of trying to cram as much information, and lessons from other people's experiences, into my brain as quickly as possible. I think that my sense of urgency stems from wanting to minimize the number of mistakes that I make with my first grow. But I'm starting to realize, from reading all of these journals, that I just need to jump in and figure the rest out, as I go. I can't be anxious about mistakes because there will be plenty. I just need to enjoy the journey... I don't know about you, but I think that we made a major break though, today. You've given me some much needed perspective. What do I owe you?

Haha Fish you don’t owe me a damn thing. Glad you’re feeling confident about your upcoming first grow. I on the other hand am feeling a bit anxious at the moment as I sit on a plane ready to taxi off to NC. I gave my wife very detailed instructions and wrote a checklist for her as well LOL

I really hope she takes good care of them while I’m gone. But I did give them a nice heavy watering with nutes this evening before I left. I’ll only be gone 3 1/2 days so hopefully nothing happens between now and then, but I feel like a mother hen leaving my babies, I’ve never been away from them before.

My wife can be somewhat ditzy every now and then and my main instruction was “please just don’t drop them”

Let’s hope for the best :)

@InTheShed so I’m examining my girls after my trip this morning and come across this mealybug site, has some sap with it as well. So I immediately wiped the area clean with my finger and made sure it was all gone. A very small amount of pistils were spared for the good of the bud site I feel. I then sprayed the hell out of that spot with the Dr Bronner mix you told me about. Is there anything else I should do? Thank you sir

So the wife didn't drop them but mealy bugs moved in during your furlough? I tell ya, you can't step away for 5 minutes without everything going to crap. If I had come home and witnessed those bugs on my beautiful plants, I would have fallen to my knees with my fist in the air and screamed, "Why are you always punishing me, God?!" But when InTheShed chimed in, I'd feel really stupid for being so dramatic. Who knew that a simple soap spray can remedy the problem? Regardless, with the exception of unwanted tenants, the plants are looking good.

Ok, so I’m just getting going with my new loupe and wanted to get an opinion on what you think about how the trichomes look? This is Amnesia Haze, she never got too big but she’s been fun to watch :)

Is she ready to harvest?

Can't tell from those pics. Can you tape it to the phone lens so it's not a picture of the back of the loupe and instead it's a pic through the loupe?

Something like this:

LOL my bad! Here’s the only one I could get close enough to focus...I’ll fiddle around with it more tonight. Thoughts?

My girls are 8 weeks old today, and it’s been a lot of fun watching how they differentiate themselves throughout the grow. They have really changed their look in the last several weeks and each plant has its own characteristic and it is super cool! Didn’t have a lot of time today so I only got pics of the top, I’ll try and get some detailed pics tonight or tomorrow.

Jack Herer has literally taken OFF with no end in sight. She started flowering a week or so ago and the all around growth is super impressive. It’s getting way taller than my others so I’m having to adjust my Mars Hydro as to not burn the tall plant...is this a common occurrence? Any suggestions?

Amnesia Haze is very near to harvest and I can hardly wait :) Happy Monday folks :)

Looking good! I'd raise the light to the correct height for the JHa and raise the shorter plants with boxes to get them to the same height.

Sometimes you just need an outsiders perspective, thank you sir that is genius. Now only to come up with appropriate sized boxes and make them small and strong enough to hold these heavy girls ;)

Thanks Shed! And btw, this Dr B’s Castile soap is the shit! Very impressive stuff that seems to not harm the girls whatsoever.
