Steelcurtain22: Soil, GSC - 2022

I had the same issues with mine.
I had no issue’s last two grows with same line. Used for two grows and tossed remainder as it sat for awhile, just bought these new ones but yeah, pain in the ass! As I say, will email and go from their, maybe get some free replacements! :)

Now learn the lift the pot method. Even if it takes a week this first time, do not water fully to runoff again. Every 3 or 4 days give her a small amount of water, not much at all really, all around the outer edges of the container. This will entice roots to grow laterally, toward the water, filling the container with roots. Before you water to saturation (runoff) again, make her earn it, make her use up all of that water in the bottom of the container. If you lift it and can feel water weight, it is NOT time to fully water.
If you can get through a full wet/dry cycle, you will force her to grow new roots, and the next wet/dry cycle will not take nearly as long. The more dry you make her go, the faster this will happen.
Re-read this and will follow to a tee, so appreciate you sharing this, I’m really excited about this grow! Thx again Emilya!

So now I felt uneasy watering again, can I ask how crucial it is to do so? I’ve always just transplanted watered to runoff, and go right to wet/dry cycle so guess watering twice as you mention scares me, lol.

One thing I did do last night pre-transplant is use just a small amount of water with mixed nutes and mixed through the 3g pots of soil as they were very dry, just enough to get a nice consistency for the transplant?

No, you mentioned to transplant, water right away til runoff, wait few hours and do again? No?
It doesnt need to be a few hours, you can come back 20 minutes later and top off what has now absorbed into the organics in the soil and how much the plants have already used up in that short time. The goal is to make sure you have saturated the soil, so that you establish that base line. The soil can only hold a certain amount, and the rest has to come out as runoff.

Well it’s been about 3 and 5’ish hours since transplanting and thinking their doing fine. Always look forward to transplanting but as quick as I do it I’m glad to be done, haha!

Veg, day 15, Start of week 3 in Veg, keep in mind I stole a play outta Emilya’s GSC Comparative grow and started them in the vegetation stage 5 days after they broke soil.
So looks as though first night went well and decided to top both, even bought new scissors for the occasion. I know you can pinch them but haven’t done and didn’t feel comfortable doing so. Here’s a pic of the newly topped girls, seems to have gone smoothly!

So gotta tell ya, I follow a guy on YouTube, his name is Bill Ward Cannabis Grower. Great grower, great explanation of everything he is doing and showing his viewers, check ‘em out if you want, be glad you did! He kinda reminds me of bill284 here in that if I had to picture bill284, this would be it,…mmmmmmmm, haha. I can’t be the only one on here who wonders what other members look like that are regular’s here, but no really, check him out, great place for knowledge on any level!

Well, I set up the scrog net, it’s a complete ‘jimmy rig’ of a job but should work. By ‘jimmy rig I mean I ended up using some wrenches as weights to get it as level as possible, lol. I put the net at a height of 10’ above the base of the plants, think that’s about right from what I’ve read. Currently the tops of both plants are 3.5’ away from the net now? Any input would be great as this is fairly new to me. Also, from what I’ve read, I should let any thing grow about 2/3 inches above net, then tuck or tie, again not 100% here. I’m aways from this yet so we’ll see where we end up, lol.

Day 21: (Veg, day 16) So it’s been 24hr’ ish mark since topping both, still on the same pace, like twins really but looking good. Yet to see either one perk right up, mmm?
I can see a difference in weight and Laverne is drinking a tad more the Shirley still. Just gonna let them do their own thing over next few days and see where their at. Loving the look of the topped pics also!

Amazing what you can do when all you have is time, lol. Went to Dollarama, found two kitchen racks for $3 each, perfect for under my pots.
As to the reason I went to Dollarama, to find a cheap tape measure, sorry got excited, which I did $4. Then I stole another play from another fellow on YouTube, and cut it at 6ft! It is now set up on the back wall of the tent centred so now I can always know where the girls are at!
As for the kitchen racks, I found a few nice bricks in the garage, scrubbed and cleaned them and are now used to hold up the racks, which hold up the pots. They are far enough apart to allow me to remove the drip trays without disturbing Laverne & Shirley, your welcome girls.
Had to and still need to adjust the middle of the racks as the pots are heavy enough that if not supported, I hit the bottom of the pots when removing the drip trays. Haha, taped together some old butter knives to lay across the middle for little extra support, enough that the trays do not hit now. Problem is the pots may be or will be heavy right after watering so need to brace the middle differently soon.
All complete now…I think, bahahaha! Happy Mondays ugly little sister Tuesday all!!!

Right on, whatever works right ! Finding out that I’m more creative then I thought, just took growing this to find out, haha!
Lmao. I'm just cheep. Aka wife want let me have money to grow sht

Not sure what this little guy is but found em in the jug of water I use for humidity. Sure it’s nothing to worry about. Also, right after seeing this guy I noticed a house spider on the ceiling. Thought is he/she is eating well and helping, so I let him/her be.
