To chop or not to chop

Hi all

Girl scout cookie, hydroponic, 8 weeks since buds visible.

I have been watching for the hair to darken and curl in but most are still upwards and sturdy. I have 3 plants in the room but this one is the show-er so I really don't want to loose it. These are the biggest buds I've gotten so far by far.

A couple of the fat buds though seem to be dead and drying on the tip and appear to have some white fuzz near the stem where the tips are browning.

I took some trichome pics today and discovered a couple creepy crawlies. Spider mite? The webbing seems different then what I've experienced before.

I've managed to get a couple pics although hard to see. White, mite like, 2 black spots. Picture 6

So my question is......do I chop now before bugs get worse? Or try to hold off another week or 2 for trichomes to get milkier? Or will the mites stop them from getting better...I see some orange, and clear, .....I think

Any comments

personally , yes I would take that plant ..looks like rot is setting in ? trics are personal preference but rot spreads quickly

don’t forget to 4 bucket wash your plant and hang to dry ! Makes a WORLD of difference
good luck!

Definitely look into a bud wash, but some looks to have bud rot set in.

I personally do -
1. 1-2 cups h2o2 , tap outside water
2. 1 cup of lemon juice, one cup of baking soda outside Tap water
3. plain outside tap water
4. Room Temp reverse osmosis water

20 ~30 second swirl in each bucket

hang in a dark place with air circulation. . I find the trics plump right up and the buds dry more evenly ...you wouldn’t believe the stuff that will come off in the water ..yes, even for indoor grows..just take a look at your fan blades :)

should be STANDARD PRACTICE :hippy:

Very interesting. How important is the reverse osmosis water? Can that be substituted?

I bud wash with my well water and I have an RO filter.

OP you have bud rot aka grey mold.

You need to cut out the infected flowers and TOSS them. Bud washing wont get rid of the mold.

You can cut it out and continue but its there in high numbers. Clean and wash everything after your harvest.

Start thinking about a sulfur vaporizer. 1 or 2 burns in VEG and no more mold or PM.

I would guess ? my tap water is very good , I use ro water more so to warm up my hands and I know for sure that it is pure water
some people will tell you cold water here, hot water there , I don’t know but I’ve used the top receipe for 2 harvests now and will never hang another plants that hasn’t been washed first :)

Ok I'm going to try this out. I'm leary of the h202 as I don't want to mess up the ratios. Can someone help me out with the math? I know stoners right? This is what I have for cleaning between crops. I haven't used otherwise.

I am using 5g buckets.

Thanks all. Soo curious about this method. It is very counterintuitive to me.

Dilute it to 1 part h202 10 parts water since most commonly peroxide is purchased in 3% solutions.
Then mix 1-2 cups of said solution per 5 gallons of water. I'm just guessing ratios but I think that was the recipe I'd read. Good luck.

Thanks all. I'm bummed I couldn't let it go all the way , but still got a great haul. I did first round of trimming then washed a little less than a third in all 4 buckets, then about the same in last 3 buckets, then remainder i left to dry normal. The wet buds i left under light and small fan for tonight Anyway. Will probably move all to dark tomorrow for more drying. Can't wait to see how the methods compare throughout the process. I selected 2 big buds for each trial for tric and bud pics.
