What am I doing wrong

What’s up everybody! So I’ve noticed a few fungus gnats on the sticky trap over the past few weeks, I’ve only seen them around the ice cream cake but not the other 2 plants. I was thinking about grabbing some diatomaceous earth or some mosquito bits. I never had to deal with pest before what would you suggest for a good ipm.

It also looks like the plants could be showing a nitrogen toxicity, some leaves are very dark and some leaf tips are curled down, plus the ice cream cake has some leaves with ruff looking edges wasn’t sure what’s causing that.

I topped the ice cream cake and fimmed the 2 blueberries last Friday but I ended up topping them a few days later. They’ve been growing like crazy blueberry #1 has caught up to the ice cream cake at 9.5in and blueberry #2 is right under them at about 8in, I definitely think I’ll be using the trellis nets if they keep it up.

My solution to fungus gnats, after trying everything from neem oil to toxic shit in veg, was ditch everything the f-ers use to replicate, and go DWC. No habitat, no gnats.

There are too many in my area to think I can keep them out without an over-pressure room and anal clothing restrictions. I havent found anything that would cure an infested plant of these flying pests. They also never caused much of an issue, except getting stuck on the sugar leaves in flower.

I heard they can destroy plants, but unless I got lucky on all my previous soil grows, I dont really buy that without there being way more issues with that plant. I would agree on your nitrogen levels being a tad high, and that leaf could perhaps be overwatering, something those gnats like as well ?

Hello @Trade Mark hope your having a good day.
Ladies look wonderful.
I found that a fan blowing on the pots prevents the little buggers from landing in your pots.
Also helps them stay dry on top.
Give it a try.

Stay safe

From what I read they don’t actually go after the plant, the larvae eat the fungus that grows in wet soil but the plants roots can get caught in the crossfire so I guess if your infestation is bad enough the roots can get ate up or damaged, it also said they can be carriers for the bacteria that causes root rot.

As for the leaves with the ruff edges, I’ve been watering every 2 days when the pot feels lite and the first few inches are dry. I went 3 days recently to get a better idea when to water and 3 days is definitely too long for the ice cream cake which is the one with the ruff looking leaves, my rh has been very low lately under 40% sometimes could that cause it.

This is what she looks like on day 2 before I water

I seen someone mentioned that on another forum, I definitely need to get a 6in fan to blow directly at the pots, I currently have a secret jardin 8in fan but even on the lowest setting it’s too over powered for my space.

I reached out to the green sunshine company about the nitrogen toxicity, they gave me some advice which also let me know why I’m seeing a toxicity in the first place. I amended my medium with the highest recommended amount but my temps have only been in the mid 70s, my vpd has been very low, and my light hasn’t been intense enough for most this grow so far. I’ve been slowly bumping the power up but I just hit 220w today.

I plan on flipping the light soon, all three plants are showing pre flowers, the blueberries are female no surprise since they were feminized, the ice cream cake I’m not sure about. Some of her pre flowers look like female but no hairs coming out and she’s about 8 weeks from seed.

I put a trellis net down and topped dressed all three with earth dust bloom, with in a few days I started seeing some nice healthy looking fuzz across the top of the soil. I wanna flip the light ASAP but I still need a air purifier and a 6 inch fan, I seen an oscillating one on eBay I might grab.
