I took a clone from a flowering plant. Rooted it no problem (actually rooted quickly) new growth has odd looking leaves and is really slow. Is this a lost cause?

I am not going to guess on this one but there are many people more knowledgeable on the growing method you are using. But, most of them will tell you that you need to take a photo in white or natural light. A photo taken with purple and blue light does not show what the true colors of the leaves are which makes it hard to see the potential problem.

Maybe try turning the grow lights off and leaving the room lights on. Take the picture and the flash should throw a good white light.

Good day.

I only grow in soil but I do find water growing fascinating and definitely part of the future. Not going to take a guess though I do see the problem. Most likely it is not a lost cause.

Someone who grows with the same or a similar method as you are will be able to jump in soon.

Good day.

My guess is it is trying to switch gears back to Veg mode as you get some odd looking growth while/until it does, why most folks don't try and take a clone off a Flowering plant. Maybe someone with more knowledge in that area will wander in and chime in if it is something different going on.

Nice. All right I won’t worry. The only reason I did it was because I was pruning a strain I like and just got a new bubble cloner and figured let’s give er a shot.
