79 Xmas Bud IBL

Day 41. Watered #1 this morning, it's been six days since i watered it, and i think i could have went one more day. Crazy how little water these things need when the humidity has built back up in the house and the space heater in the grow tent isn't running constantly. Probably see a savings on the electric bill as well. Were going to have 70 and eighty degree weather the next week so im thinking come this weekend im going to up pot #4 and put it outside.

My peach tree's first blossom opened up today! A hundred bucks for this branch that was grafted onto roots.. but whatever it was hardy enough to survive the winter up here and thats all that matters to me. Hope the stupid deer dont eat all the peaches off of it like they did last year. My cherry trees are also a day or two away from the flowers opening up on them. Man there are thousands of flowers on them this year.

I think i know what your talking about. It's basically spraying them down with colloidal silver to make feminized seeds? Im not sure but i think thats what i read.

Basically the same thing but a different solution that works much better from what I've been seeing. It's a 2 part mix that you make up. Just Google sts reversal, silver thiosulfate solution.

:theband: Moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches.. moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches...

Sorry that made me think of that song for some reason this morning

Plants are looking great as usual! Looks like you're well on your way for outdoor growing with that weather and all the tree blossoms.
I just got my outdoor plot tilled up and ready yesterday for some autos, if the beans ever pop ffs. Never had this many issue popping seeds as I have with garden of green and expert seeds.

Hey this is a weird question but what is it like going to the doctor in Canada? Me and my co worker some how got onto the subject of socialized medical care and we both had "heard from others" that it takes a very long time to be seen by a doctor up there, and that Canadians who are well to do come to America and pay our sky high prices fully out of pocket because of the wait. We both kind of think this story is bullshit and nothing more than propaganda being used on us by republicans because they hate anything with the word socialism in it. Lol you should see the dirty looks you get when you tell some of the older republicans if they don't like socialism they had better give back their social security checks. But yeah i figured you would be the best person to ask.

Our health care system is totally different than the US. We pay for our "free health care" in our taxes, but this does not include dentists, optometrists or prescriptions from your doctor. Those 3 things are covered under a medical plan paid for by your employer or both of you, if they have a benefits plan in place.

So, when it comes to seeing doctors up here, depending on where you live, there could be a shortage of doctors and it could take 2 or 3 weeks in some places to get in to see your regular family doctor. I live in a small town, our doctor works between here an another town so he's here like 3 days a week which can make it hard to get in at times.

I don't think Canadians are coming to the US to see just regular doctors though, a lot of them go there for dental work, chiropractors and such. The reason for this, is it's actually a lot cheaper for those types of procedures in the US than it is here. There's no need for us to go see the regular doctors or hospitals there because you're right, it would cost us a fortune in the end. We can go to the hospital or doctor here for no charge, for example, if we get cancer, treatment has no charge. Break a leg, no charge.. hip replacement, no charge. There is also lots of free mental health care and programs as well. But when I say free, we pay for it in our taxes..

So, all in all.. yes a lot of Canadians come there for certain health care, but not just because we can't get into see a doctor. We do need a lot more doctors here, my hometown back in Nova Scotia had no doctors in the immediate area that could take on new patients due to the overload, and 1 clinic didn't eve have a doctor. It's scary to think you'd have to go to the hospital for something simple, and you might get turned away and told to see a doctor instead. Our Healthcare system is good, but it doesn't come without flaws.

Day 43. Gave #2 about a gallon of water this morning, and also a trim. I couldn't see the dirt that i was trying to water so i got rid of a bunch of the lower leaves to make my job a little easier. The stems on these leaves are crazy long most of them are about six inches at the bottom of this plant. most of them i cut about three quarters of the way because the foliage is so dense i was worried i would snip and arm. if you look at the top two leaves in the first pic, that is closer to the average length. None of my other plants ever came near having stems this long. So weird, Xmas bud is turning out to be a very unique strain.

That is very interesting to know. For me to keep me and my wife insured under the cheap option it costs 375.77 Canadian Dollars a month. This includes vision and dental. The insurance company pays a certain percentage of the total cost say 50% (percentage varies wildly depending on procedure, or what type of visit your making. dental, eye, medical.) and your left on the hook for the remaining percentage which is still sky high for anything other than routine treatments. Cancer is going to bankrupt any one who is not well to do. It's nice to finally have an answer to that question. So much of what you hear in this country is propaganda meant to sway your vote one way or another.

That's kind of how our medical/insurance plans are with our employers. We can also get a plan on our own if we wanted to pay the full amount. So, with our employers (not all of them have a medical plan) my wife and I each get a separate plan, our kids are on both, and I'm on hers, as she is on mine. This particular plan covers 80% minor dental work for example, so if I go to the dentist, the 20% that my plan doesn't cover, her plan covers the rest. You can over lap them that way. And if the total amount per practitioner per calendar year is say $2000 on each plan, you get $4000 due to both plans.

Some employers cover all the monthly costs of these medical plans. Some only cover 50% of the cost and the other 50% comes off your paycheck. For a family of 4, with 2 plans, we were paying about $250 a month each off our pays.
two more quick questions. Is Canadian dollar the correct name for your money? And also what is a looney? What would be the equivilent in america?
Yes, Canadian dollar. Or CAD, just like USD

A loonie is 1 dollar, but in coin form unlike you 1 dollar bills. There used to be 1 and 2 dollar bills here, now they are coins. Its called a loonie because there's a picture of a loon on it (type of waterfowl).. as for our 2 dollar coin, I'm not sure why they called it a toonie, because there's a picture of 2 polar bears on it... I guess us Canadians are just loonie toonies :Rasta::laughtwo:

Right now the value of our dollar finally went up!! Our value compared to the usd had been at 70-75 cents for the longest time. We are finally up to 83 cents now. So if I bring 1 Canadian dollar to the US, it's only worth 83 cents. Sometimes less due to the banks and conversion rates

I have been wondering about that for a while now. I live close to the Canadian border and before the t.v. signals all went digital we could on clear nights get one of your channels on the t.v. The red green show is my absolute favorite, i dont think there is a funnier man alive than steve smith!

Day 44. Well i don't know about putting #4 outside tonight it's supposed to rain for the next four to five days straight so it may end up in the grow tent a little longer. But i just got done with 5 ten hour shifts and the next four days i don't have to worry about that place, so im just going to enjoy it. Hoping to go fishing friday but sounds like we may be getting thunder storms so i may not be able to, just have to wait and see.

Duct tape works for everything
Even when you break a branch on your favorite cannabis plant :laughtwo:

:laughtwo: that's awesome, red green was always a hoot to watch growing up as a kid, my dad liked to watch it at one point. There is also no one more Canadian than him in my mind, he kind of set the bar early. It is funny that you mentioned him though, because just the day before, the brother in-law and I were building a little spot in my garage for some plants that went hermie on me. We used some lumber for a frame, put up some huge pieces of cardboard from a freezer we bought, and started stapling and duct taping it together to hold it in place. As we are stretching out numerous feet of the handyman secret weapon, he looks at me and says "red green would be some proud right now"

The plants are still looking great, will be nice when you can get the one outside. You must be getting some of the same system we are getting. I don't have a rain gauge but some places in the area got 4 inches apparently. Weather station said 20-25mm for yesterday and another 10-15mm Sunday. It's wet here now that's for sure. I have 2 x 1000L totes for rain water, 1 on the larger portion of roof is full, and the tote on the smaller portion of roof is about half full. Glad to have them filled up for the outdoor garden plots, veggies and canna.

Well I hope the weather let's up a little bit and you can get out fishing. I'd like to get out and do the same while it's not too hot, but unsure of the weather at the moment. Monday is supposed to be nice at least for our long weekend.

Yeah i broke out the a.c. today to get the humidity under control in the house. it was 29 c out today and tomorrow it's supposed to drop down to 4 c. Then the temps are supposed to be up and down all week. We went out fishing yesterday, the fish were biting good, between suckers, small mouth bass, and bull heads we caught about 70. All catch and release, unfortunately bass season doesn't open till next saturday. But it was fun none the less, We had the good fishing spot all to ourselves which was nice. So how many plants did you have go hermie on you? Sucks that it happened but you'll at least have some seeds to keep you growing for a while. Seed prices are crazy and to think back all the times before it was legal to grow that we would just pick out the seeds and throw them away.
