Thats interesting, you seem so set to dispel old school thinking about autos, yet say this is best or that. There is no science supporting your opinion but best Regards.

247 is in my opinion not healthy for any plant.i belive a dark period is needed as nature intented.for best growth and better overall plant.18/6 is the best cycle for autos.although some auto growers claim they yield more on 24. But 12/12 from start to finish will defo effect overall yield of an auto.and switching for 12/12 for bloom could aswell.but aint tried that.i stick with 18/6. Happy growing every1

Velk examples of what? how to top?.i dont have no recent pics of to compare a plant from 3rd to 4th node.will give u the same sort of plant either way.3rd node u get 6 solid dominant branches.top at the 4th u get 8 solid dominant branches.happy growing

Just a photo of we're you cut and thanks this info is handy I'll do on 4th node to try get more branches also I'm transplanting my little ones they have been left a while so I'm assuming they will go threw shock should I top at the same time save it from getting shocked then needing recovery then shocking again better to do all at once I found a photo to help with the nodes but photos from Sombody with vast knowledge is better lol

I really hadn't don't enough research on how much you can push Auto seeds, at least if done in the right time frame. I did top once though and then a bit later decided to sheer off one of the 4 main branches with a tape measure . Now I've got a three legged Blue Mammoth on day 63. About two weeks left! First Auto ever for me and I've really enjoyed growing her.

This came from two of those mars 300s, Hippy. They will do the job. Theres a HID lamp in the pic because i just got it and put it in the tent that day. I finished out the last 2 weeks of flower with the 2 leds and the hid. All the growth up to the time this was taken were the mars lights.
I ended up getting the hid because the mars lights seemed to give me slightly airier buds on my first run with them but really cranked up the trichome production. Now i veg with the leds and flower with both leds and hps(400w turned down to 200w for temp/humidity reasons) You can get pretty close with those lights in flower too. I had them as close as 8" with no bleaching or burn. It lessens the footprint when they're that close tho so you need to rotate them.
Sorry for the hijack Beast, just trying to share gained knowledge. .

So a 250w hps would do the job would it? They're very cheap by the looks of things on the bay.

Was that just one plant in the pic? SCROG is it? What was the yield like - looks like an awesome grow

A 250 with the leds should cut it. And yeah, 1 plant in a 3x2 tent, topped & scrogged. Final dry weight about 4 1/2 ozs. Not bad for my first run using dwc.

I've noticed that some of my perlite has turned green like a green tinge I thought it was the LEDs but took in to normal light and some were kinda green should I be worried and what you think that cause is ?

Algae from light. Not that big of a deal. Can use a soil cover or mix it up a little bit.

my first attempt at autos. auto ultimate,one a several, some were smaller some taller but probably average about 4 oz a plant,had some nutrient issues but i can really see the potential with these!

So here is think big when she was young before been topped

and topped

and 4 days later

and 2 days later tied her down to start her lstd structure

kept tying her down until happy with her size then i let grow up.all bottom growth removed at preflower stage and another heavy defol then left to flower.think big today

a beauty.and how to top an auto.important u do not touch the side growth when u make the cut these will be ur new 2 main colas
